Civilization 3 question

Post by Sarevok »

Does the AI cheat in any way if you play Civilization 3 at higher difficulty such as emperor or deity level ?
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

And it cheats it's ASS off. It's pretty common in games for the AI to cheat, but you're looking at across-the-board production/econ bonuses, lower unrest, combat perks, etc.

Indeed. Civ 2 and IV are both much better games.

Because Civ 4 is so troublesome that it refuses to work on computers that meet the minimum system requirements? That may not be his reason but it's the situation I'm stuck in and rather annoyed about.

I had to go out and buy a better video card just to get Civ4 to run properly, but still had stuttering problems with the Wonder movies until the most recent patch. Personally, Civ3 was not a game that lasted on my hard drive like Civ2 did. Heck I still have it on my laptop.

As for the OP, yes, the computer does tend to take "liberties" with production and make the game very hard to play. Not to mention that in Civ3 you are much more likely to suffer from the Swordsman killing a Tank scenario.

Dude, Civ3 is still awesome. Mostly because I'm too impatient to really get the hang of CIV.

But yeah, the AI cheats hugely on the higher levels. They even start out with additional units.

It really pisses me off when they do the AI respawn. "No, you didn't kill me, I had a settler on the other FUCKING SIDE OF THE CONTINENT! HONEST!"
