Its a P81 Sov, so maybe he has the weapons edited that way. Anyway, with a Captain like Anderson, nothing should make sense!

Ah. I use the CG one, with regular torps fore/aft and a QT launcher that's set-up as a pulse weapon with 0 recharge to simulate limited ammo. Never mind :)

I hope no one associates this with "Star Destroyer Rampant", with the SD killing Feds left and right.

But I know it will be superior to it.

The CG ships are way too mucg for my computer. Framerate is almost non-existent when I try to use 'em!

So how many times will we be hearing "are you on drugs Captain Anderson?" "Captain Anderson, thats the most f***ing retarded idea you've come up with yet"?

That's just the way the ship and camera moves in BC.
Isn't it the Sovie moving around to bring weapons with different arcs of fire to bear on the enemy?

I'm just glad I'm not going to be the most inept captain in this story.

I answer my critics:
pecenipicek wrote:lets observe the fact that it looks so fucking horribly disgusting that i doubt its even more possible to massacre either series.
Let's observe that fact that you're a trolling idiot, who doesn't owns a CAPS button.
its official, you suck. pick up your stupid little animation and take it over to SD-net, i'm sure that they'll appreciate it much more than we do.
Actually, they do, because the intelligence quotient there is far higher than it is here, if you're any indication of the bell curve.
oh woe is me. such an ignorant bastard i am... oh WOE IS ME!
Is this more of your emo whining? Are you having another another personality crisis? Going to ban yourself again from sb.com because you're not mature enough to balance real life vs. online time? Maybe you'll have more time to make another piss-poor music video of a bunch of losers warbling through Beatles songs filmed with a very bad cell phone?
well, it didnt say anywhere that it was a machinima, so... :p
You actually had to be told this was a machinima flick. Do you need to be told to flush after you've eaten as well?
i have a certain project underway,
"101 On How Not To Us The CAPS Button"?
when someone butchers ST and SW,
Show exactly where it was butchered, or is it too much to ask of you to back up your whiny little claims? I know more about the subject than you do, BTW.
Thanatos wrote:Its a pretty poor Act One opener and an "ultimate" ST vs SW film would have an obscene amount of ships on both sides slugging it out on even footing in an orgasmic display of utter disregard for canon\calcs.
Maybe if you made it. For me? No, it wouldn't.
Cpl_Facehugger wrote:Ja... though perhaps a slightly more shiny video game is in order. Something a bit more recent? Maybe some sort of HW2 mod or something. :p
Nah, a heavily-modded "The Movies" and "Bridge Commander", and a few other games will suit my purposes for this!
It's not like it says "JUST KIDDING" in big block letters or anything. :p
You're not kidding. Some people are dumber than tree sap.
Seriously, how could people miss that? Or did they just turn it off in disgust before then? :p
They were too absorbed in writing "dis suuux!!" before "JUST KIDDING" ever showed up, to cover for their own inadequacies
I think it could have been done better had you gone a different route, though. Perhaps just show the shape or silhouette of an ISD for part I, and then for part II you'd have the ISD emerge from out of the shadow of a conveniently placed sun, it's bone-white hull glinting pale in the starlight...
Again, that's how you would do it. The way I did it is fine with me.
Marshall Lucky wrote:I hear the voice actor for the Captain balked at doing full frontal nudity and made a lot of diva demands. Any truth to that?
Not at all. I can have Captain Kraft dressed in a bozo suit, and the VO actress wouldn't know the difference.
Citrakite wrote:Saw part 1 and it looked a little biased. Saw part 2 trailer and you can kiss my spotted Trill ass. }p
Aww. Does watching Trekkie ships blow up hurt your feelings that much?
Otter wrote:I thought it was a good effort

And LOL! The Feds somersaulting around the bridge when it was exploding was priceless! :D
Thank you, sir!
Esoterica wrote:But it doesn't look like machinima. It looks like a a clip from a video game.
Do you even know what "machinima" means?
The way the camera rotates around the E-E, everything moves kinda slowly, and not much really happens.
You're basing your opinion on the entire trailer of the last 4 seconds? That's silly. This is a very ambitious machinima
project involving greenscreen and several game engines.
You can use a video game for your animation, but you need to do something so it looks like a movie made with a game
You mean like I did with part one, and most of the teaser trailer for part 2?
Yamarus wrote:The effort that has been put in making such a fan film surely is really enormous. The voices and sound effects are good. However, I don't see myself being able to watch a feature-length film made with Bridge Commander. It's a bit like watching a Sims 1-based movie.
Well first of all, its probably going to be less than 15 minutes overall. Secondly, "Bridge Commander" is only used for the sets and most of the space scenes. The actors are from "The Movies".
malfunkshun wrote:that wasn't very exciting. sorry but i was expecting a battle, not a 2 shot slaughter
Uh, that was the opening teaser you watched. Not the entire movie...
Major Diarrhia wrote:That's a horrible opener. If we didn't know what was coming and things were set up as a mystery it could have been interesting. But we know everything and they're just talking a lot.
Yeah, it would be a huge mystery in any Star Wars vs Star Trek movie...
You should have shown a portal opening and then say something like ten months later and show a huge battle.
Now THAT sounds like all kinds of suck.
Basically, my reaction was, what's the point, the entire story is obvious now, I have no reason to watch any more episodes.
Which speaks to your mindset, but not the story we're actually telling.
The teaser is worse, I'm surprised you're surprised most people just stopped watching less than half way through.
Actually I am, since Spacebattles is responsible for Star Wars vs Star Trek vs Battlestar Galactica vs Babylon 5 uber-wanked nonsense. What's with the slow-as-steam-off-shit turbolasers?
The stuff toward the end of the teaser looks somewhat promising,
Mightly white of you.

So... it sounds like a Temp Ban (From the Admin/Mod/Whatever's statement), how long do they normally last and how many do you get before a permaban... it'd obviously have to be a lot since the tard you were arguing with has 6k+ posts.

Nah, its just generic footage of the Sov engaging the Star Destroyer. In the story (which MIGHT appear at the end of part 2, or the beginning of part 3) the USS Guardian takes the lead in the attack.

USS Guardian? Tee-hee-hee. Too bad the Federation registration number 'NCC 2000' has already been assigned to the Excelsior.

In addition to Captain Anderson, will the USS Guardian also feature such noteworthy personnel as Commander Big Harry Mountain Man, Lieutenant Andrew J. Talon and Academy drop-out Stewart Davies?

Stofsk wrote:But what I really want to ask is this: when is part two coming? :)
Things are still going slow. I'm waiting on one last voice, and if THAT one doesn't come though, I'm just doing them all myself. I don't care at this point if they sound the same.

I've "filmed" two of the four starship crews that will appear in part 2 so far. What's taking long in that area is I have to plan it like putting a complex model together.

I have to film everyone on the greenscreen bridges seperately, then edit the screenshots of the "Bridge Commander" bridges like jigsaw puzzles to make it look like some crew members are behind the tactical horseshoe on the Galaxy-class bridge, while the Captain and XO are seated in front of that, while the ops and nav positions are in front of THAT! (I actually have one scene exactly like that!) Then all the "actors" have to be doing something slightly different from one another.

I can't do the lip-syncing until I have the voices, though. Tonight, I'm hoping to get one more crew filmed and ready. For some reason, I've had more social events to go to in the last three months than I've ever had in recent memory. And right now, I basically have one day off a week to do this, plus a couple hours here or there after I get off work!

I liked the lead up, though I felt the Star Destroyer reveal could have been served better with a different camera angle (like maybe using the same one used in ANH).

It's still an impressive achievement the way you managed to splice Bridge Commander and The Movies together.
