And I'm number SIX! :D

I didn't bother preordering any games, because they didn't have Zelda on the list. I'm sure I'll be able to get a copy for myself on launch.

Evidently they handed out the preorder slips early at my store because there were more people outside than preorder slips.

Oh well, waiting list it is. I wasn't going to play anything other than Twilight Princess until SSBB came out, anyway.

Yeah, that's what it seems they were doing at some TRUs from what I read at PA: they'd hand out tickets for the pre-order earlier this morning or last night.

Mind that it seems that at most of those locations, they didn't bother to tell the people standing in line about it...

Number FIVE of TEN, baby!!
With rumors of potential Wii-mote shortages, you might want to preorder some of them too. I've got one Wii, three Wii-motes, one nunchuck, and Zelda preordered.

We pre-ordered only what was from the list. If they had controllers available, we would have probably gotten those as well.

Though I haven't heard a single word about controller shortages, myself...

There has been a few rumors floating on the internet about it, and the GameStop manager here said it was actually sounding like their controllers at launch may be limited. Interestingly, GameStop stopped taking preorders on the controllers the day after the Wii preorders stopped.

So in other words, nothing really more substantial than the murmerings of little birds on the interwebs. I'm not that fond of giving lip service to hearsay rumour-mongering, personally. There's plenty of actual news and information trickling in without having to bother paying attention to the rest.

Not like you need more than one controller for Zelda anyway.

Well, Uts and I plan to get two additional remotes, an additional nunchuck, and a classic controller.

Well, yeah, I'll need a classic controller for the VC.

I should probably get a Wavebird, actually, for RE4 and Eternal Darkness.

But why would GameStop stop taking pre-orders on the controllers unless they expect limited numbers? They didn't stop taking pre-orders on the games...

Because news is real and rumours are bullshit until actually backed with more than just hollow speculation. I am a news-only type of person who dislikes to revel in fearful rumour-mongering. Unless something is genuinely announced or reported with substance, I prefer to merely take note of rumours but otherwise write them off.

Regarding the issue of a possible remote shortage specifically, you are the only person I have heard of such from. I have not read anything about it whatsover at all in the Wii thread over at PA: no one there has made any mention of it at all. Maybe there is some truth to it, but right now there's nothing to back it up. That alone is enough for me to brush it off until I actually hear something with backing.

There are plenty of reasons why GameStop would stop taking pre-orders for remotes, one of them being the possibility that enough would come in that they wouldn't have to bother with it.

Pfft: Excite Truck isn't an AU launch title and may never come out here. Trauma Center is unlikely to come out here either.

Fucking region bullshit.
