You got to be kidding me...

Well...after watching a few debates in the past...trekkies are known for the weirdness in regarding actual facts. The one that many of you people here have argued against.

But...this IS nuts...

What the hell? They are saying that redshirts are SERIOUSLY better than rebels or stormtroopers?

And their argument is very biased towards the star wars side of things. I seriously doubt that there much pro-wars user on the forum, or the fact that no one has noticed them yet...

[quote]I would say that Starfleet Security probably has the best individual pieces of equipment. Someone trained in the complete uses of a comm badge, tricorder, and phaser can accomplish almost anything.[quote/]

I love how the combadge, phaser, tricorder triumverent makes the redshirt the infantry juggernaut we know and love.

I hear you can make personal shields out of commbadges. They'll need that, once their active tricorder gives away their position and they get blown up.

I'm pretty sure you need an old telephone, too. Starfleet doesn't have many of those knocking around. Com-badges, remember?

Is there any reason to think that they would work outside of a holodeck? I mean, momentum is conserved, and that com-badge can't weigh too much more than a bullet.

Y'might want to dress/break those links, by the way.

The funniest thing is that Trekkies think fake Holodeck bullets are actually harder to stop than the real thing, not easier. Just mention STFC, "Tommy Gun", and "Borg shields" to them and watch them spin.

Well the OP does state that there is no vehicle support allowed so at least they are not claiming redshirts and their little phasers could withstand the full onslaught of LAATs, Juggernauts, AT-TEs etc. etc.

And what's that about Federation using kiloton level mortars? We have seen Klingon mortars in action in their full glory during "Nor the battle to the strong".

I assume they're referring to TOS "Arena", in which Kirk drove off a party of Gorns with one shot from a mortar he found on the colony. Of course, there was little sign of any kind of blast from the weapon; it looked more like a flash device designed to blind enemy troops.

I'll assume that this was a typo...

Listen Warsie holodeck bullets are small forcefields, nothing like real bullets and don't kill Borg through their kenetic energy or momentum but instead through forcefield interaction with matter. VOY "Killing Game" proves that, because as we know in TNG "Fistfull of Datas" they can make forcefields that stop bullets out of their communicators and because they didn't in "Killing Game" that proves that the rifles used by the Hirogen and Nazis were minature forcefield projectors. Plus, didn't you watch the episode, the Nazis lost. Obviously from TOS "Bread and Circuses" a phaser can defeat entire divisions of contemporary armies, so it should be no surprise that bullets are inferior. Also, Picard wouldn't have been stupid enough not to replicate tommy guns for his whole crew. Man, you need to watch more Star Trek, especially Enterprise season one and two, I hear they are the best too bad they were cancelled I felt good jerking off to T'Pol porn.
