Ah, so you're simply an uninformed retard. Tell me: Do you think the Dark Ages had the same gene pool problems? I doubt it, there was no where near the infant survivability rate. Yet Europe was full of total morons at the time.
Humanity's always been filled to bursting with stupid people.

From your mom for instance.
Aside from those mentally retarded. do you truly honestly think that stupidity comes from genetic factors other than the environmental factors that people are subjected to?
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Now now, just because your mom has an IQ 2 Standard deviations below the norm doesn't mean everybody else does.

Conditions that they were raised in is the big one. Underfunded education, stupid legal gaurdians, low standards of living, idiots who cling to archaic beleifs, morons being more able to spread there bullshit around to fill the minds of the gullable with shit than ever before are among the few of the reasons why people are stupid. Nice try at changing the subject. The kids we're talking about here have such severe developmental problems that they would require constant care for the rest of their lives, thus virtually destroying their families' ability to function. They obviously won't be getting girlfriends and breeding.

Sure, exterminating one the most intellectually endowed groups within the human race sure make solid sense. I suggest you go back to shovelling that manure.

That would be a refusal to address the fact it works off the same logic as yours? Splendid, I love it when the trolls concede arguments so clearly.

Considering the cases where infant euthansia is considered, the child involved is never expected to be self aware, kaing it pretty hard to meet members of the opposite sex. They also would be on life support for the rest of their life, also putting a damper on the love life.
And exactly which, pray tell, serious genetic disorders are you refering to?
And people aren't averse to euthanasia?
Its gaining acceptance isn't it, in some of the more enlightened areas of the world. Yet people are still bizzarely paranoid about eating genetically modified food, you think they're going to stand for genetically modified humans?
I may be going out on a stretch here, but I think people get more upset over killing babies than eating genetically modified food. We've been genetically modifying food fo millenia. Genetic selection of embryos is already growing more common place as is acceptance of stem cell research.
Yeah, and I'm sure sterilising poor people is also for the benefit of the human race.
Who said anything about sterilising poor people, you deceitful cretin.
I was pointing out the flaw in your logic that simply because it's "for the benefit of the human race" it must be right.

You wouldn't know a slippery slope fallacy if you shat it and it smacked you in the ass, you dishonest retard; sterilizing poor people (and disabled people and people with "bad genes") is, in fact, a direct consequence of your argument that if it's bad for the human race overall, it ought not be permitted to reproduce. Are you simply trying to use this thread as an excuse to throw in as many pretentious insults as you can without making any arguments of substance?
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

When did the slippery slope fallacy stop being a fallacy? Whatever you might think, dear, the rules of logic don't bend to your will.
Isana Kadeb wrote:When did the slippery slope fallacy stop being a fallacy? Whatever you might think, dear, the rules of logic don't bend to your will.
Why don't you tell us exactly why that was a slippery slope fallacy? That might, oh, help your credibility a little bit. Not that you have any left.

Hi, Mr. Wong. Could you kindly read the second post in the thread.
I've already read it. Are you saying that you support extending this euthanasia policy to include people who could lead productive lives, rather than the permanent-care semi-vegetables described in the opening post? You place no value at all on social utility? What exact system of ethics do you subscribe to? And don't just say "consequentialism" again; that is not a system of ethics because it doesn't explain how you value these consequences.

Look at the list of Jewish nobel laureates. You don't find anything fishy?
So according to your logic, if X% of an intellectually superior group A belongs to group B, then X% of group B must also be intellectually superior? You honestly don't see the flaw in this logic?

Why don't you define the slippery slope fallacy for us, since you obviously don't use the standard definition?

No, they don't. But they don't to bend to your lies either. Sadly, what has been put forth is not a slippery slope fallacy, and anyone with the simplest grounding in logic would know this.
Continue to evade the point though, please. It amuses me, how the idiots twist in the wind, trying to avoid addressing the consequences of their claims..

Returning to the article. I personally think that euthanasia should be considered as an option that the family can choose to take. The only problem I have in implementing such an option is what guidelines must the child be under for them to be eligible to do so? Does the child have to be in a vegetative state or can it be less strict than that?
