The First Cloned Human?

Read this article and tell me what you think:

Interesting, but I'm waiting for that DNA proof.

Yes, well, interesting... Errr...

ROTFLMAO
...a chemist connected to a group that believes life on Earth was created by extraterrestrials...
I think the doctor's credibility is a "little" bit in question, don't you think? As soon as I read this part, it totally voided the whole article. WTF?

Anyway, I'm not too excited about private companies cloning humans, it's too royaltie-esque to me.

As of right now this thing is probably just a microscopic lump of cells.

1) I don't fucking care about possible human cloning. There are 6 bilion+ humans on Earth, all of them reproducing naturally. If a handful of idiots want to have clones of themselves, then give them a Darwin Award and leave them be. Human enhancement through genetics is a bit more disturbing, but it's still far fetched sci-fi.

2) These sect morons are disturbing. The FBI should pay them an armed visit. It would help raise morals.

[Fundie]Ah! But with cloned humans, we can build them to OUR specifications, and there won't be a need to indoctrination (read, brainwash)! They will be perfect devotees! MWAHAHAHAHAH![/Fundie]

I defend genetic tinkering, for the purpose of eliminating certain diseases, but human cloning is just too messy.

Yet the Rapture hasn't occurred how odd. Though Jack Van Impe thought the Anti-Christ was being cloned in the year 200 Christmas Eve.

I think they got a baby but it is really fucked or deformed or something :? .

I also think they are lying. Either one, lying more.

For some reason, I hold doubts that the child is a true clone.

It was all over the news today and they sound like a bunch of kooks, it looks like the cold fusion fiasco all over again. :?

These kooks couldn't tell a test tube from a rectal thermometer. All they have for their "birth' is some woman who wants to believe she's carrying a clone, while in reality they just gassed her out and took turns 'fertilizing' her

Seriously, the current problems with cloning are just to enormous for a bunch of Florida wackos to have overcome in just a few years. Its bullshit, very remincient of the 'cold fusion' hoax of the late 80's.

Isn't it strange
Feels like I'm lookin' in the mirror
What would people say
If only they knew that I was

Part of some geneticist's plan
Born to be a carbon copy man
There in a petri dish late one night
They took a donor's body cell and fertilized a human egg and so I say

I think I'm a clone now
There's always two of me just a-hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down

I am glad that we are making some scientific advances.

The problem is that its the fucking Raelians who are doing it. Those guys are messed up on a whole new level.

Now every single church and scientist will be screaming blue murder and cloning will go underground again.

Actually, human cloning was achieved a long time ago. Look at the Backstreet Boys and then look at N'Sync.

Even before that. Do you really think that was the same Strom Thurmond running for the Senate all those years?

The Aussie government has had a prototype clone around for a few years now. Unfortunately it suffers from amazingly low mental functions.

Of course cloning is nothing new to the USE.net denizens. We have clones of trolls popping up all of the time.

Gee, they tell the world about their breakthrough not in a peer reviewed journal, but on TV at a press converance. I'm going to call bullshit on that claim.

Have you stopped to consider some of the serious ethical and legal complications of real human cloning? I'm not talking super-men clones or clone army crap, I'm talking things like black mail, organ harvesting and other serious moral and legal question/
