Can anyone post the links to the weblog of the ones who saw it happen. I'd be interrested in seeing the photos.

Thanks!

Look, just because your toes are being nibbled by horrendous things from beyond time and space that the mind of man was never meant to comprehend is no reason to get sloppy. If a gent can't keep up the level of his prose, well, I don't know what the world would be coming to.

What is it with all the apocalyptic predictions? Shouldn't we as "good capitalists" be fighting over who gets to put up the first beach front hotel there?

According to the Encyclopedia Cthulhuiana...
The article on Lemuria wrote:Most of Howard, Lovecraft, and Carter's information on Lemuria came from writings of the Theosophists Madame Blavatsky and W. Scott-Elliot. They picked and chose what they took, and they omitted some of the Theosophists' more bizarre assertions--such as that the earliest humans on Lemuriawere beings of spirit which reproduced by budding. Lin Carter stated that the two continents of Lemuria and Mu were the same, but since this contradicts other sources on the Mythos, I have chosen to list them separately. Their relationship to each other and to the "lost continent" of R'lyeh is a matter I leave to future scholars to puzzle over.
Anybody know what, if any, is the generally accepted levels of canon for the Mythos?

Lovecraft's published writings, obviously, come first if it's specifically Cthulhu mythos. Then those of his peers; after that, Derleth's writings. I don't know much about this, mind you...

I figured each author would hold precedent in the part of the Mythos they created. Lovecraft's writings about Cthulhu, R'lyeh, the Mi-Go, etc., would be primary. Likewise, Ashton would be primary in regards to Tsathoggua, Atlantis, Hyperboria, etc. Derleth would hold precedence with Ithaqua and a few other things. Howard would get first dibs on anything related to Conan, Cimmeria, etc.

I don't know where subjects that were greatly covered by two or more would lie, like the Serpent Men of Valusia covered by Ashton and Howard.
