Empire at War: Forces of Corruption expansion
Has anyone bought it yet?
Story-wise, how does it gel with the EU as a whole?

A better analogy would be a street gang taking over and using a nuclear missle silo, unless the crime lord involved is Hutt-level. Even a planet-owning crime lord is a small fry in the SW galaxy. What is the crime lord's resource base?Cao Cao wrote:I mean come on. A crime lord stealing an Eclipse-class is like the mafia making off with the battleship Iowa.
Nah, the honor of the nuclear silo analogy goes to the Darksaber *shudder*. And I believe this Zann guy's outfit is on par with the Black SunAr-Adunakhor wrote:A better analogy would be a street gang taking over and using a nuclear missle silo, unless the crime lord involved is Hutt-level. I enjoyed the expansion. Sure, the story sucked, but most of the missions were fun, and I enjoyed the new ships and tactics options. Of course, I also enjoyed the original game as well, so take it as you will.
One thing that did piss me off is that you get to see the eclipse and executor for part of one mission, and then never again. Also, the Venator class is modeled in the game, but it is near impossible to actually use it.

Why does he keep looking at you in the same way a starving man looks at a packet of peanuts?

He also never actually steals the thing. He needed to get something from it.

Plus in the manual it says the Empire is able to build the Eclipse, but I still have not found out how.
But being able to have the Executor in your fleet is pretty cool.

You can only do it in the Galactic conquest mode and only on Kuat, I think you need to own the Maw as well.General Deathdealer wrote:Plus in the manual it says the Empire is able to build the Eclipse, but I still have not found out how.

I must be doing something wrong because I played the Empire in Galactic Conquest mode, plus I controlled Kuat and the Maw, but still could not build it. Hell I even waited until I controlled all but one planet in the galaxy and I still could not build it.Zac Naloen wrote: You can only do it in the Galactic conquest mode and only on Kuat, I think you need to own the Maw as well.

Did you upgrade to the final tech level?
You should also be able to build the Death Star 2.

I was fully upgraded in tech, plus I had the Death Star 2 built. It must be something I am missing.

The Eclipse is only available in the campaign, during the last mission. The Executor is available in Galactic Conquest, however it's actually the space hero version of Darth Vader. You need a level 5 space station around any capital ship planet, around 12,000 credits, and Palpatine at the same location to purchase him.General Deathdealer wrote:Plus in the manual it says the Empire is able to build the Eclipse, but I still have not found out how.

If that seems too steep or strange for you, I'm sure there are mods out to make the Eclipse and Executor more readily available.
