How about Uruk Hai are all armed with the same staff weapon that Darth Maul used. They are all trained in its use by a mixture of Saruman's magic and Dooku's knowledge, now this means that they will not hurt themselves but it does not mean that they can do Maul like feats with their weapons, they just know enough to not chop off their own or one of their own guy's limbs.

How about now?

Darth Wong wrote:If Dooku could so easily knock down Jedi from afar, he wouldn't have had to use his lightsabre to fight Obi-Wan and Anakin. Anakin was just overconfident when he first charged him. There's no reason to believe Dooku could do anything more than co-ordinate, unless a Jedi gets close to him. And co-ordination of Uruk-hai, as Sea Skimmer pointed out, would only leave more neatly stacked rows of dead bodies.
I believe the idea is they'd be so busy fighting the Uruk-hai that they wouldn't be prepared for a blast of Force Lightining, or a Force push (perhaps off of a ledge), although Jedi precognition might negate Dooku's advantage.

Let's make this more interesting; Lets take away the Jedi's lightsabers and replace them with regular good'ol fashion swords. Human made or Elven made is up to you guys.

Then it only takes them a little longer than with the lightsaber...end result is virtually no different.

It's a supernaturally fast, near pre-cog opponent with TK and TP powers to boot vs a grunt who's idea of tactics is charging in screaming.

The only way this could possibly work is if they started at the front of the lines and effected enough of them to slow them down long enough to effect more minds. You may be thinking "Well Obi effected that guy selling deathsticks no problem." But that was within...not even a foot, the ranges we're talking about for this plan to work it would have to be farther away than when the Urak-Hai army had stopped just before charging Helm's Deep.
No. You misunderstand what I said. I said start at the flanks and the back, and control them just long enough to start fights (maybe hit another orc or wound it.) Even Half-Orcs aren't very disciplined or unified without something in common uniting them. That can be something the jedi work off of.

I perfectly understood what you said. But if you start at the back or the sides you aren't going to be effecting the Urak-hai at the FRONT of this mass of moving blades. And by the time discent has moved forward enoough in the lines they are already on top of the Jedi.
