Wiimote works for your Mac/PC!
I've been using my Wii remote to control front row on my MacBook I'll have to reboot in Windows and try some games later.
For Windows Wii Remote drivers:

So far, nobody has written a pointer driver so you can't use the "point at the screen" function.Tolya wrote:Well, its nice, but tell me, how accurate and comfortable is the wiimote in comparison to a normal mouse?
On the Windows version they've got a gyromouse mode, watch the Half-Life 2 video.
I've been using the pointer on a normal TV, and I'd say it's probably as good or better than a mouse, at least for browsing menus and applications.

You tilt the controller left / right to look left right? I noticed that when he tilted it the screen panned at a nice, steady rate indistinguishable from using a control stick. I've not used it myself, but based on that observation, I can't see that being as precise as a good laser mouse, though cheaper? Yeah. [then again, I got the G5 when it was brand new, I've seen it for much less recently in stores than purchasing it on-line and with shipping ]
My gripe also is predicated on having a real NEED for pixel-by-pixel fine tuning accuracy but also quick turns and constant re-adjustment -- in other words, any FPS where you can be expected to both aim down-the-sights a lot but also close-range strafing.

Yeah, I had a hard time beleiveing that his troubles were soley from sucking at HL2. I think that the Wiimote would be nice for a lot of things, but FPS won't be one unless they get its pointer to work as well on the computer as on the console. If he was pointing and shooting like in Wii FPS's, it would be awesome. But he's not.SPC Brungardt wrote:You tilt the controller left / right to look left right? Unless someone manages to hook up the sensor bar to a PC or build a compatible one then I doubt you'll get it to work on a PC as good as it is on the Wii.LaserRifleofDoom wrote:Yeah, I had a hard time beleiveing that his troubles were soley from sucking at HL2. Building a sensor bar isn't too hard, you can do it with a pair of candles or LEDs from Radio Shack.atg wrote:Unless someone manages to hook up the sensor bar to a PC or build a compatible one then I doubt you'll get it to work on a PC as good as it is on the Wii.LaserRifleofDoom wrote:Yeah, I had a hard time beleiveing that his troubles were soley from sucking at HL2. The problem I see is that you won't be able to aim around the screen a la Wii games...but it'll still translate to mouse movements, so you could still look around with it. It'd be interesting to see how it works.
