Wii!
I got one. Sadly no Madden as it ain't out for another fortnight here... So I just got CoD3 instead.
More to come as I play.

You bought CoD3 ... on the Wii?
It looks like total ass. It's CoD, not some remarkably original shooter that will fully take advantage of the Wii's control scheme.

Re: Wii!
I hear that CoD3 on Wii is decent except for lack of multiplayer, which is a big lack.weemadando wrote:I got one. Sadly no Madden as it ain't out for another fortnight here... So I just got CoD3 instead.

Why not Zelda?

Agree. Everytime I've tried to play a Zelda game I've just found it exceedingly uninteresting.weemadando wrote:Not really interested in Zelda.

Re: Wii!
Rayman and Trauma Centre are awesome. Excite Truck is pretty fun.
Rampage and Red Steel are pretty meh.

We have NO Trauma Centre in Australia, not even for the DS... Though we could order it in, but fucking BS all the same.Admiral Valdemar wrote:I'm sure you can deal with the DS version for now. And CoD3 is shit. Controls are very twitchy and the Wii cannot handle what they want it to do leading to a lot of unfortunate glitches.

They never released that here either, and I've been too busy playing Fire Emblem and Pokémon Diamond to import it.Admiral Valdemar wrote:I'm sure you can deal with the DS version for now. As for Red Steel, I'm finding that it's quite enjoyable. Perhaps it's simply because I'm an FPS novice, and thus don't have pre-learned habits to unlearn, but I'm finding turning and aiming using the wiimote to be very painless. Turning around while standing still is a bit slow, but otherwise, it's more than responsive enough for my needs.

Trauma Centre DS rules. It's a shame Wii is region-locked.
Call me crazy, but Zelda looks like ass and Red Steel is silly. Seriously, both games look significantly worse than the 'screenshots' released earlier. Maybe when Nintendo bothers to release component AV leads it'll look better?

The gameplay in Zelda is pretty good, though. Plus certain aspects of the graphics (like the bosses) are well drawn.
ExciteTruck is pretty freaking awesome (since you steer with the controller by actually turning the controller like a steering wheel).

Does Zelda look better in progressive? Because seriously, the terrain textures make my eyes bleed. The game is fine (get this, it's Ocarina of Time 4), and the characters are fine... but the areas look AWFUL.
Suck it down, Wind Waker-haters. Cel-shader smoothness is better than horribly pixellated, stretched, washed-out jaggy 'realistic'.

Sadly no ExiteTruck for us either.Guardsman Bass wrote:ExciteTruck is pretty freaking awesome (since you steer with the controller by actually turning the controller like a steering wheel).
Got mine at the midnight launch on Wednesday. About 80-90 turned up to the store, which only had about 40 Wiis available. I was 22nd in the pre-order line. Ended up getting the Wii, Wii Play, 2 extra Wiimotes, an extra Nunchuck and 2 Classic Controllers. I'd also ordered GT Pro, but was told that it won't be in until Thursday next week.
For all the Americans who can't find nunchucks or remotes, I think we got 'em all. The store I went to literally had dozens upon dozens upon dozens, far more than needed.
Something I find most amusing is that I bought all that for much less than what the PS3 console alone will cost when it finally gets here.
Oh, and I'm not interested in Zelda either.

Apparently so. Component cables are the first priority of my Wii owning life.
