Component leads should be in the sodding box with the console.
I'm considering saving Zelda until I've got them (Wii Sports and Rayman should keep me going, though I may break and get R6Vegas for co-op online), because the composite leads the thing is going to ship with are just Not Good Enough For Zelda.

What's Rayman like? I'm probably going to change Red Steel for something else.
It's wierd: they won't let you select 480p unless you've got component leads. I thought lead quality just affected the signal, the colours etc, not that simply AV leads had a maximum they could 'do'.

No, that's just Nintendo being dicks. There are stories of people who modded their cables, and you merely need to connect two pins together to enable 480p. Let me check around...Stark wrote:What's Rayman like? I'm probably going to change Red Steel for something else.

Here it is: How to hack your composite cables into component.

Ah, I guess it's Japan only. I had heard a while back it was getting an AU launch release, but that probably changed.atg wrote:I don't think we did. I certainly didn't see it.DPDarkPrimus wrote:Hey, didn't you Aussies get Warioware at launch?

Rayman is basically like Super Monkey Ball except that it doesn't suck.Stark wrote:What's Rayman like?
Which is something that seriously shocked everyone.

I personally think that the two games might actually compliment each other rather well, since they're quite different.
But if someone had to choose between the two, I would be more inclined to recommend Warioware over Rayman, just from a gameplay and scope perspective.

Well, Warioware AND Wii Play are out soon. I guess I'll put Rayman on my Xmas list.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:I personally think that the two games might actually compliment each other rather well, since they're quite different.

Yeah, the general consensus over at Penny Arcade was that it blew HARD. A lot of people were disappointed exactly because the previous incarnations were so good.Stark wrote:Is the Wii Monkey Ball game shit? The GC ones were cool.

I'll second the Red Steel non-recommendation. It's just . . bleh. The fighting's not particularly hot, and neither is the storyline so far.

It's wierd: for once reviews were accurate. The laughably tacked-on nature of the swordfighting is pathetic, the 'spawn some guys' style of combat is lame, etc etc. It's fun to play and has some nice effects (the graphic quality is very inconsistent overall) but it's not a very good game.Guardsman Bass wrote:I'll second the Red Steel non-recommendation. I also got the Play bundle. Some of the games in it are awesome. Some are merely meh.Stark wrote:The US didn't get Play on launch? Anyway, it's garbage: I got the 'Play bundle' which is Play and a remote for remote+$10, and I wish I hadn't. Nowhere near as good as Sports.
Is the Wii Monkey Ball game shit? The GC ones were cool.
The play bundle is awesome, you get a game (even if it's a simple minigame collection) for $10 basicly, since most people want a second remote.Stark wrote:The US didn't get Play on launch? I wouldn't buy the game on its own otherwise.

The N64 was kinda the poor relation of that era for me. I bought the system for Zelda and Goldeneye, and never really picked up many games for it until they were all second hand. And £6.99 for the VC version is cheaper than the DS version.Praxis wrote:Vendetta wrote: Mario 64 (which I somehow managed to miss on the N64).
