Okay, Wookieepedia claims that there's a quote in there from Pablo Hidalgo denouncing SuperShadow as a fraud and saying they've taken legal action against his website in the past.
Is it true? (I don't have the magazine)
Anyone have a scan of the quote in question? I bet it would be beautiful framed!
fun/fantasy movies existed before the overrated Star Wars came out. What made it seem 'less dark' was the sheer goofy aspect of it: two robots modeled on Laurel & Hardy, and a smartass outlaw with bigfoot co-pilot and their hotrod pizza-shaped ship, and they were sucked aboard a giant Disco Ball. -adw1
Someone asked me yesterday if Dracula met Saruman and there was a fight, who would win. I just looked at this man. What an idiotic thing to say. I mean really, it was half-witted. - Christopher Lee JKA Server 2024
Interesting, I didn't know he was also trying to run a scam as well.
I personally subscribe to the collective theory of ss.
Turns out that a five way cross over between It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Ali G Show, Fargo, Idiocracy and Veep is a lot less funny when you're actually living in it.
A fan wrote in to ask Hidalgo about it, and Hidalgo spent three or four sentences denouncing the site while not specifically naming it. I've not seen it personally, but I heard about it over on TF.N.
Personally, I was vexed that he even bothered commenting on the whole thing.
I thought perhaps it would finally lay to rest the theory that SS was just a guy making a parody of obsessed Star Wars fans...

Well, if big wigs at the Ranch were really taking legal action against him for illegal activities (such as profiting off of misuse of or otherwise misusing the SW Liscense or pretending to have official status or whatever), that would seem to indicate that he is delibately trying to decieve, rather than simply making satire, which is supposed to be transparent on some level.
That would mean that the joke as so good, that he's fooled even LFL into thinking he's really trying to pass his stuff off as somehow official. That goes beyond mere parody.
I think if I were Mr. Suttle, and LFL took me to court over my site, the first thing I'd try to do (if I wanted to defend myself) would be to claim it was just satire. The trouble is, if it came out that I was getting money from the people I was fooling, that would weaken my argument considerably.
And his admitting it was fake under legal pressure would of course be a nice validation as well. If he were to come out and admit it was just a parody, that would be different than admitting it was a deliberate hoax.
Still, an official denouncement from our pal Pablo is good enough for me, hence why I wondered if anyone had a scan or transcript they could post...

This is probably more publicity than ss deserves. With the prequels all out, he's probably going to spend the rest of his life putting animal semen into the ketchup while flipping burgers at McDonalds.
Two credits for whoever catches that reference.

Nah, he's currently collaborating with Lucas on episodes 7-9.
Well, one more day before this becomes necro-fodder, so I'm curious...
If it's illegal for anyone to post a pic of a scan of the article, can somebody just post the word-for-word text?
Or point me to an online edition? PM me, if you prefer...
Thanks much!
