This video once again shows Dawkins to be a high class, highly intelligent individual who doesn't generally bow down to the kinds of tactics we often see in our own political system. For example the idea of interrupting one's question or point to bash it before they even finish it. Dawkins waited patiently for people to get out their question (no matter how retarded it was often times), and then responded. Even when blatently insulted multiple times, he stuck to the argument at hand and didn't take the bait of their personal attacks.

I would have found it hard not to leap out and beat those morons senseless. The condesending tone alone of "Oh, I find your arguments so INTERESTING" (obviously referring to anything but interesting) would be bad enough. But that first guy was a real douche. It was enjoyable to watch him argue the point with them in a civilized, respectable, honest manner even when they tried to strawman him left and right.

So, when he is coming here to speak? I must attend. :)

I just got an audio version of God Delusion, 6CD's, read by Dawkins himself. Very nice.

Well, he is from Oxford, that hotbed of British Communism. Well it was in the 40's-50's and since fundies spend half their time in the past they might well think it still is :D

To a fundie, ANY criticism of their belief system is "rude and arrogant" at best. There's this asshole over at StarTrek.com who goes by the screen name of Kosh131 who spends nearly all his time blaming evolution for all the evil in the world but if you dare return the favor and point out the bloody history of the Catholic church, you're a hatemonger.

I'm only about halfway through, but from the sound of it, could be the meeting place of intellectual wankers anonymous. Seriously...is there one dissenting opinion from the place?

Watched the actual speech, but by the time I got to the Q&A I was just at the end of my attention span...and the idiots asking questions didn't really help.

As fun as The God Delusion is to read (which I'm in the middle of doing now), it's even better to hear him read it. Dawkins has a great voice, and an incredibly droll, dry manner - if he read the audio book versions of his work I'd probably be looking for them right now.

You, my sir, have much shorter attention span than you think. It does not extend beyond the first clause of a sentence.

Gah...my apologies.
My attention span seems to vary inversely with how tired I am.
