Can you guarantee that all kids will take in their parents' teachings and not rebel against them? (be taught about incest, but wave it off as another parent thing meant to be defied)

Sex itself was not a concept in my mind when I was 11-years old. It didn't exist for me at that time period. Therefore your question can't apply to me.

If we define good parenting as "sheltering from reality", we are going to be truly fucked up. The notion that kids shouldn't be exposed to sex because they'll immediately start fucking everything in sight is moronic; by that notion, they shouldn't be exposed by any kind of violent imagery or they'll immediately kill everything they see.

The job of a parent is to tell his kids not to do these things, and keep an eye on them to make sure they don't. Parents who are too fucking lazy to do this try to blame the media for putting ideas in their kids' heads, but here's a little secret: sex and violence were common TENS OF THOUSANDS OF FUCKING YEARS BEFORE TELEVISION, goddammit!! WHy does this even need to be explained, for fuck's sake?
