Reliability of Biostar motherboards?

Post by Darth Wong »

The MB in my old Linux fileserver seems to be going kaput. There's a cheap Biostar with a Celeron CPU available at one of the local stores but I don't have any experience with this model. The thing just sits in the corner and isn't expected to do anything spectacular, and I don't want to spend a lot of money on it, but at the same time, I don't want something that's going to be unreliable as hell. Anybody know anything about this brand?

I've used Biostars almost exclusively. Cheap and they work well for everyday home use computers. What is the model number of the main board?
Biostars are useually not gamers or overclockers board.
Do not expect all the bells and whistles you get from the top of the line (ie $$$) models.
Also Biostars have a semi-bad rep for boards that are dead out of the box but I've never had a problem.

I have a Biostar SFF system that presumably includes a Biostar mobo (though I don't know the model name), and it's worked great for 2 years running.
