HALO or Jedi Outcast?
I just picked up a brand spankin' new X-box, and after much gnashing of the teeth, have narrowed down the choice for my next game to be HALO or Jedi Outcast. Both appear to be solid selections, and I have reached a deadlock in trying to decide which one to go with. Your thoughts?

I have never played Halo, but it is the major reason along with splinter cell, that I want an Xbox. As too Jedi Outcast, its worth it on the PC so it should be worth it on the Xbox.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Re: HALO or Jedi Outcast?
Jedi Outcast was primarily developed for the PC platform. If Halo is Xbox only, I'd go for that; ports of games often stink.irishmick79 wrote:I just picked up a brand spankin' new X-box, and after much gnashing of the teeth, have narrowed down the choice for my next game to be HALO or Jedi Outcast. Halo sounds good. From what I've heard, the Master Chief vaporizes ass and the game is hellish when you set it on legendary.

I played Halo in multiplayer only, and the controls sucked ass. I have Jedi Outcast on the PC and it rocks. If you can customize your controls I'd go for Outcast. Mags haven't said anything that would result in a turn off.

Halo was eh...seriously I don't see the huge deal that X-Box owners usualy make of it(aside from it being above par and on a machine that has very few games)
The PC port may be decent but I'm hoping for mods or some such.
For me I liked JK2 better.

Get Halo. It has much better mutliplayer. Don't pay attention to the "it has bad controls" BS. I thought it was really bad at first on my cousin's X-Box, but after a while I was able to snipe like it was nothing. Multiplayer is loads of fun if you have at least three people. Play Blood Gulch with vehicles on and you'll have a blast. Jedi Outcast for the X-Box was a major letdown because the multiplayer is limited to only TWO people. And you can't even go online to play with more people. Well, you can't do that with Halo, but at least Halo has up to four players without linking X-Boxes. If you want JK II, get it for the PC. It's MUCH, MUCH better in every regard. Graphics are better, multiplayer is better, and the controls are better. Trust me, you won't like it on X-Box.
EDIT: Halo's story and single player is also cool. You can play through the single player missions with a friend as well, and that's a lot of fun. I loved having my cousin gunning down hordes of alien scum in the jeep while I drove.

Splinter Cell is on PC around February, but Halo won't be until December.
Get Halo. Every person should make that their first X-Box game.

Before Microsoft bought Bungie HALO was being developed as a game for the PC. Now its up for grabs if we will ever see it on the PC or not.
Anyway, Id get HALO for the single player game. Its pretty fun. I didnt like the multi too well cause the split screen makes me dizzy after a while.

Halo CAN actually be played online, just not 'officially'. But hey, Bungie supports it, so it's a pretty good system, I bet.
I'll find a link and post.

Re: HALO or Jedi Outcast?
Well, unless you can do all the neat, neat things for Jedi Outcast on the console version that you can do on the PC version, I'd go with the game that was developed for the console (i.e. HALO).irishmick79 wrote:I just picked up a brand spankin' new X-box, and after much gnashing of the teeth, have narrowed down the choice for my next game to be HALO or Jedi Outcast.
