What's the difference between DDR SODIMM and DDR2 SODIMM?
I want to upgrade my memory for my laptop, and the user manual says it takes 1024mb PC3200 400mhz DDR2 SODIMM, however I'm only finding DDR SODIMM at places like CompUSA...

Re: Memory question
Physical pin out and electrical requirements are the main differences you need to be concerned with. Even though the DIMMS are the same size, DDR won't fit into a DDR2 slot, and vice-versa, due to the different pinnings. And even they did, the electrical differences between the two types would keep them from working. Then there's the bandwidth, latency and clocking differences.Max wrote:What's the difference between DDR SODIMM and DDR2 SODIMM?

I'd check Crucial.com for the right memory for your laptop.
