Okay, I've posted this elsewhere, I got a 360 today.
A good bundle offer that included the premium system, an extra wireless controller and some games.
Namely....
Dead Rising
Full Auto
Gears of War
Which I selected myself, I also got bundled with it Project Gotham 3 and X Box Live Arcade.
Now does anyone have any further recommendations. I don't like sports games bar the Forza/Gran Turismo style racing games. I've been thinking of Saints Row, Chromehounds and Enchanted Arms, but any other suggestions are welcome.

Re: 360 recommendations
Oblivion's supposed to be good, if you don't already have it for your computer.
Don't waste your money on Oblivion for the 360, Oblivion without mods is like playing Street Fighter with a trackball. It makes no sense and it kills the fun.

My laptop can't run Oblivion so I grabbed it for the 360. Pay no attention to the elitist prick, it's still a ton of fun. Not as much to do as Morrowind though.Mr Bean wrote:Don't waste your money on Oblivion for the 360, Oblivion without mods is like playing Street Fighter with a trackball. I've only played it a few times, but Call of Duty 3 was quite fun, especially on live. Aside from that, though, Gears of War is the only one I can really vouch for.

Pay no attention to the peasant running Oblivion on a well modded PC version VS the 360 is night and day.UCBooties wrote:My laptop can't run Oblivion so I grabbed it for the 360. For example right now in my fully modded Oblivion
-I enjoy all the benefits of Oscuro Oblivion overhaul(Bug fixes, more stable game play, a host of new features, a much better leveling system, reworked dungeons, a ton of new monsters and more.
-I have adorable cats & rats in my city, doing what rats and cats do, namley scavenge for food and hunt for each other.
-I have all the benefits of various combat modifications, from being able to shield bash someone(Just try it 360 players!) to dismemberment (Still Alpha FYI)
-I have three times the explorable area of stock Oblivion already thanks to the dozen of new areas already crafted by mod makers(Milage may vary)
-I have seen the Morrowind in Oblivion team hard at work and seen some of the terrain they are already turning out.
-I've heard of everything from dual weilding to acutal flying being done ingame. As well as scripting to give NPC's acutal JOBS, not just wants and needs.
- I've seen snow pile up thanks to the weather modification mods, not been able to see anything as a CAT-2 storm roars across the land, even monsters taking shelter.
-And final.. I've got my own drivable Pirate ship... don't tell me that's not both useful and outstanding.
360 Oblivion is stock oblivion, and that's all it's going to be(Minus the pay to play mini-additons) meanwhile every six months you can pick up your PC copy of oblivion and play a totally different game.

Re: 360 recommendations
Saints Row is lots of fun. It may be a ripoff of the GTA's, but it does a lot of things better than them. Between GoW, Saints Row, Dead Rising, and PGR3 I think you've got all the bases covered. There are other good games for the 360, but those are the biggies.Jade Falcon wrote:Okay, I've posted this elsewhere, I got a 360 today.

But before you go any further, and if you haven't already done so, you should get an extended warranty for the console. The build quality on those things is abysmal, my friend's died, was repaired, and then died again.

What about Rainbow 6: Vegas? IGN gave it a good review. You might wanna look over at Play.com, they've got a sale on at the moment with a few good games fairly cheap, Saints Row, Smackdown Vs RAW 2007, Ghost Recon.
Mind if I ask where you got your bundle, Jade?

What about Splinter Cell? Always like those games but I heared the latest game is very short.
I kinda like Just Cause, but it has to grow on you. It's GTA on an island with waaaaay over the top silly action. I like how you could cause rebellion in provinces, reminded me a bit of Jagged Alliance. It may grow tiresome tough (havn't played it that much yet)
I really need a new TV because I'm missing out a lot. Dark games are nearly unplayable for me at the moment. For instance, the night times in Dead Rising were frustrating like hell, as I had the viewing distance of 2 meters. It's the main reason I havn't played on it much yet

Where did you get this mod? You mean leave it to the mod community to model a musket that uses silverware you find in people's houses as ammunition? (Spoon do the least amount of damage, knives the most)Stark wrote:It's not *a* mod, it's a whole pile of mods. You know, the 'leave it to the mod community to fix' thing.
Or the recent one I've seen that lets you go Jedi ingame(Lightsabers are still a work in progress but you can already have nearly all Force powers from speed to the ever popular force neck choke/necksnap on higher levels)
Oh and FYI I have ten mods install and running to get me all the things I mentioned.

Well the original bundle was any 3 games and 1 from a selection for £340. The selection was four or five different titles, but if I selected PGR3 from that, I didn't just get Live Arcade, but I got an extra wireless controller. Due to some cock-up in the bundle, I had to take either Pro Evo soccer or WWE Smackdown as one of my selection of 3. When I said I wasn't interested in either game, I was told I could trade it in and get £25 off another game. Fortunately, Full Auto was £25 new, so that sorted that out. Strangely enough, the bundle then came in at a different price of £325.Dorsk 81 wrote:Mind if I ask where you got your bundle, Jade?
This was from Gamestation.
Oh, to settle the argument going on here, I've got Oblivion on my PC. The mods sound interesting. I'm just as interested in just mucking about in the game as I am doing the main quest. Memories of Arena and Daggerfall abound.
