Short fic

Ok was bored so lets see how bad my writing sucks, please be brutaly honest guys and girls.

Drin system asteroid belt near Cardassia space

USS Warsaw

Admiral Wilson stood in his ready room watching as the slow moving asteroids flew past the hidden fleet. Glancing around at the power down room his eyes fell upon the count down chronometer, realizing that it was time he walked towards the door about to consign untold number of people to their deaths.

“Is the fleet in position captain” Admiral Wilson asked.

“Yes sir all ships report ready and as of this time their have been no signs that they have detected us, but that don’t mean they haven’t and are readying a trap sir.”

“I know but this mission is imperative and if it doesn’t succeed then well you know what will happen.”

“Yes sir that I do” With that the captain turn to the xo and said “Began”.

Deep inside the ship magnetic accelerators normally capable of launching fighter craft at thousands of gees slowly powered up and with a gentle pulse nudged the fighters down the launch bays and out into space.

Lt. Commander Patrick looked out the canopy of his fighter watching the other fighters slowly being launched into space and drifting towards the edge of the belt.

Speaking into the com system “Well guys and girls this is what we’ve been practicing for. There is to be no further com chatter from this moment forward but I am wishing us all luck cause if we don’t succeed then most of us will not return as well as the rest of this quadrant will feel the consequences our friends and family are depending on us. Get in perform your strikes and get onto the main objectives. Alpha group its up to you to prepare the way. Good luck and God speed.”

As the fighters slowly left the edge of the belt using thrusters to minimize their EM signatures they moved into their assigned attack positions.

“All craft engage!” And with that over 250 fighters engaged their warp pulse engines and shot towards the inner planets at warp 3.2.

Defense Station 23

As Sub Gul Cordura enters CIC he sigh knowing this is going to be another long boring shift, whishing that the Federation would just surrender already and save everyone unnecessary grief and would allow him to go home to his family. As he moved towards his counsel he looked around and quickly spotted the stupid Vorta and its bodyguards. No sooner had he signed into the system when the screen went red as it detected over 200 contacts leaving warp just outside the edge of the mine field. Cordura reacting as fast as he could slammed his hand down on the alert. No sooner had his had closed on the alert than the enemy ships open fire. With the last thing going through his mind that it wasn’t going to be a long day after all.

Federation strike group

As Alpha group came out of warp they quickly orientated on the DS 23 and engaging their impulse booster they darted through the mine field, mines that were designed to go after capital ships had little change of hitting the small, maneuverable fighters. Open firing with their bow mounted rapid fire PPC they cleared a pass through the mines.

Upon leaving the mine field the 12 fighters that made up alpha group volley fired there capital missiles. The first missile struck just as the shields were raising but had not yet fully strengthened. The resulting explosion ripped through the barely existent shield and energies never imagined before ripped into the station stripping away armor, weapons and more importantly shield generators. The hundreds of people sucked into the vacuum of space were incidental as the remaining missiles flew through the opening of the shield and gigatons worth of energy vaporized large chunks of the station ripping their way into the infrastructure itself.

Yet even with all the damage done the station was so massive and heavily armored with armor, internal shields, compartmentalization and SDF that the station itself was still largely intact. However the enormous amount of radiation and EMP had killed a large percentage of the crew and electronics rendering the station vulnerable to a second volley. The most heavily armored area the CIC survived intact and Gul Cordura was pulling himself off the ground and into the seat just in time to see the second volley being fired.

The second volley arrived and finished what the first one had started blasting their way deep into the station and finally reaching critical areas the station itself blew in a titanic explosion that threatened to over whelm the shields of the fighters still thousands of kilometers away. Having used all of their capital missiles on the station alpha group turn towards the remaining station and lead the way for groups Brave 2 and Bravo 3. As Alpha led the 24 fighters of B2 and B3 towards the second station the remaining fighters headed towards the planet now that a semi safe path had been cleared.

Alpha group roared into the mine fields firing their weapons and clearing the way for B2 and B3, yet this station had time to raise their shields and point defense weapons and Alpha group paid as 8 of their fighters were vaporized, yet 4 survived to engage the station with their PPC’S knowing their weapon would have no effect other then perhaps as a distraction. B2 and B3 clearing the mines opened fire and 48 capital missiles fired in a staggered formation in groups of 4.

As the station PDS attempted to lock the first missile in each formation created a very large EM jamming field and decoy signatures designed to allow the remaining group to reach the target. Yet even with this the first 2 groups were intercepted and destroyed. Of the third group and fourth group the jammer and half of the missiles were destroyed yet the last missile impacted and the large EMP and radiation created a temporary blind spot only lasting microseconds but it was enough as the fifth group arrived intact.

While the jammer impacted on the shields with no effect the second missile was a shield penetrator with the sole purpose of destabilizing the shield for a split second. This allowed the two follow up missiles to slip through the gap and impact on the secondary shield while strong was not strong enough to with stand the explosions and the shield quadrant failed.

This allowed the remaining missiles to strike the hull of the station, ripping away armor and weapons. But like the first station it was not enough and fully two thirds of the station was intact and still capable of fighting. However the remaining 2 fighters of alpha group and B2 and B3 no longer had any capital missiles only their bow mounted PPC’S. Realizing this alpha fighter turned towards the damage section of the station and engaged their boosted impulse and shot forwards at over 5000g’s. The resulting damage was enough to allow B2 and B3 to close and use their own PPC’S to remove the weapon systems, so while the station itself as intact it was now unarmed.

While this was going on the remaining fleet was already deep inside the planets atmosphere heading for the southern continent.

Drin 2

LTC Patrick led the federation fighters into the atmosphere only paying minor attention to the battle that was ranging behind them after all the important part was done and the way to the planet had been cleared with the lives of people that he knew. Planetary weapons systems opened fire yet these systems were designed to engage larger slow moving ships and never had been intended for anti-fighter use yet occasionally a few got lucky. And even as heavily armored and shielded the fighters were unable to resist hits.

As the primary target came into view a large shield dome was easy visible from a large distance. The first wave fired and over a hundred capital missiles steamed away to pound into the shield. The shield designed to resist large scale bombardment siphoned most of the energy away into the shield banks yet it couldn’t handle all of the energy and the thermal and radiation exploded away from the shield and a large shock wave raced through the atmosphere incinerating nearby towns and villages.

Seeing this LTC Patrick cussed “Damn the shield is stronger than anticipated, remaining fighters move in and fire. First wave engage targets of opportunity as they become available.” And with this he moved into position and fired with the second and third wave and over 200 missiles were launched as one, with everyone hopping it would be enough.
As the missiles impacted sending an enormous pulse of energy into the capacitors a most overloaded destroying a few but not enough and the shield remained at 50 percent.

Listening to the com chatter he realized that many fighters were going down and he noticed one fighter still had a full load of missiles and was heading for the shield.

“Delta 5 what are you doing why didn’t you fire your missiles.”

“Sir my systems are fucked I got grazed by a beam and my weapon control and warp drive is offline, I can’t even eject there’s too much radiation I fry in minutes.”

“Sir it was a privilege to be here.” And with this he redlined his drive and slammed his ship into the shield. The shear speed he was traveling at overwhelmed his shields and the friction turn his ship into a molten slug traveling at near light speed, the capital missiles and fuel being inside and protected by their own shields held out for a few seconds more long enough to survive impacting with the shield.

The massive explosion was just enough to collapse the shield in that quadrant, a large portion of the energy continued on to impact inside the shield destroying the first of many new targets. With this every fighter turned towards to opening and passing through the shield gap was inside before it had a chance to repair itself. Quickly assessing their location they moved towards their assigned targets and smaller missiles locked and launched.

As hundreds of small missiles spread out over the inside of the shield many scattered smaller sub munitions ranging in the hundreds of kilo tons in yield over the assembled ship yards, cloning facilities, barracks, factories and much more. The remaining missiles locked onto underground bunkers and accelerated towards the ground, penetrating deep before exploding and wiping them from existence.

As reports were filtering in and it was estimated 90 plus percent of the targets were destroyed. The order was given to retreat. As all fighters headed toward space LTC Patrick saw that of 250 fighters only 40 managed to reach orbit and engage their warp pulse engines heading toward the rendezvous point.

Behind them the southern continent laid smoking in ruins as millions of soldiers and civilian workers died but more important the cloning facilities and ship yards were gone buying the Federation and its allies a much needed break.

Throughout the document there are numerous:
Spelling errors
Grammar errors
Terminology misuses
Punctuation errors

These make reading somewhat difficult as there aren't punctuation to show where pauses and sentences are and should be. The spelling isn't too distracting, although some words seem to have been completely mistaken.
