KOTOR 2 Restoration Project trailer

Post by Stofsk »

Check it out.

It's almost two minutes long, but a lot of the in-game footage is in it. A lot of content has a 'Gee, I wish they had this in the original release... oh wait, they did, they just didn't use it' feel to it. I'm eagerly awaiting this mod's eventual release. 'Coming when it's done' indeed. :)

They must've been switching it to a Youtube video, it took me to some file host website. Anyways.

Beautiful, now all that's necessary is for me to buy KotOR2 for the PC, can someone give me an idea of the difference in game performance from X-Box to PC?

I think someone should do a gameplay mod too besides fixing the bugs. The stupid lightsaber proof swords everyone and their pet dog has needs to be removed. There is no fun in being a jedi if your lightsaber is just another sword with a fancy colored blade.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

That was pretty kickass.

What was the genoharad or whatever Gato and the guy in the mask mentioned? I can't recall if it was mentioned in the game or not.

Edit: Never mind. Looking through the site a bit cast light on the subject.
"I want to mow down a bunch of motherfuckers with absurdly large weapons and relative impunity - preferably in and around a skyscraper. Then I want to fight a grim battle against the unlikely duo of the Terminator and Robocop. The last level should involve (but not be limited to) multiple robo-Hitlers and a gorillasaurus rex."--Uraniun235 on his ideal FPS game

"The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant compared to the power of the Force."--Darth Vader

You can turn the resolution up higher. And use a mouse in the menus.

Not a deal else. (I personally was never taken with the controls on the PC version of KotOR though)

I like how the Nar Shadda experience was always meant to be more than we got. I always found it funny that the Red Eclipse could come in and take over the ship and noone stopped them (as you see in the trailer, you get a 'precog' vision of the Red Eclipse boarding the ship). Plus there was a lot of stuff that was cut in between that and the Goto endgame. Stuff like the Genoharadan, plus more Bounty Hunting encounters.

Then there's all the other things, like the HK Factory. And actual endings now! (Atton vs Sion etc) :)

After killing Calo Nord in KOTOR 1, you are approached by a Twi'lek in black armor who offers you a datapad. If you take it, that starts the Genoharadan storyline.

More complete, but KOTOR 1 spoilery explanation follows
The datapad is an invitation from the Genoharadan, which is an organization that conducts political assassinations to keep the Republic stable. To make a long story short, your Genoharadan contact (a Rodian) has you tromping around the galaxy offing these people, only to reveal that each of them was one of the other leaders of the Genoharadan and that you just helped him take over the organization. Naturally, you then gets the opportunity of mopping the Tatooine sands with the guy's corpse.
