Some people have tried to explain vampirism using pseudoscience or out of context science, really awful logic. Mostly they use this to try and explain why there is vampiric lore. Dragons are actually more common in world literature and I'm sure there are sites dedicated to that too.

They do let people like this teach at universities these days. It's the continued degeneration of our education system due to the fallacy of postmodernism. I'm not sure, however, that she is a genuine case. It's just that she quite possibly could be.

There's also an extremely rare disease which makes a person's skin so sensitive to sunlight that he can't go out without an enclosed protective suit. IMO it's quite possible that the myth about Vampires being unable to survive in sunlight was originated by this.

Again, back with the movie references - the photphobia suffered by the kids in The Others is a real disease.
And I don't care if Blade II had a virus explanation. They stole it from I Am Legend

Vampires in pyschology:Well, there are vampires out there.Social vampires, personality vampires. They range from anyone, from that overbearing boss, that dead boring aunt to that tantrum throwing kid on the train.
Calvin, from Calvin and Hobbes can be classified as a social vampire. He's one who superimpose his reality on you and forces you to pay attention to him.Although this can be argued to everyone, only special cases, where for example, the attention seeking person suffers from real mental problems, can he be classified as a vampire.
Vampires in myth, explained by science and logic:
Vampire stories became very popular all of a sudden in the Middle Ages. There is a reason.Rabies.The weather patterns of the time, and a suspected boom in animal growth meant that a rabies epidenmic might have erupted among the populace.Among the many symptons of severe rabies
Foaming.Something some vampires are noted to do.
Sensitivity to sunlight.
Tendency to bite.
Extreme salivating.
It should also be noted the "true vampires" of the time, are often nobles, found in isolated, village communites. No exercise, and inbreeding. That means, pale skin, possible growth of teeth, and some serious physical and mental problems.
Beside the truth about the absurd out of touch with reality some of these vampire nobles had about life and morality. They often indulged in cruel torture and treated the lives of their peasants like shit. The ancients belief in the holiness of blood and the Church probably then sealed the vampire belief into modern times.

Actually its not. There are some people who are hypersensitive to light and can literally die from being exposed to sunglight (probably because their bodies react adversely). I cant find any good sources for you tho, because i dont know the name for the disease.
