A PS3 for sale in the UK.
I've seen a few shops with PS3's in them, none of which you can actually play yet, but today I saw the first shop to stick its fingers up at the official release date. Maugan Micro in the Metrocentre was advertising, for today only allegedly, a PS3 with game for £599. Don't know which version it was, but the store had a choice of 11 games, ten of them at £54.99 and a Japanese version at £24.99. It should be noes this shop was overcharging on a lot of things.
The games, as best I can remember were
Genji,
Tony Hawks 8,
Tiger Woods 2007,
NHL 2K7,
Gundam: Crossfire (Japanese) Could have sworn it wasn't Crossfire and had a three word sub-title, but can't find another.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance,
Ridge Racer 7,
Need for Speed Carbon,
Blazing Angels,
Full Auto 2: Battlelines,
And I can't remember the last one, but probably NBA

I'm just wondering, if I went back tomorrow would I still find the sign up?
It didn't look like they were going to be selling it, and this was about half five, six o'clock.

What do they think they are, Ebay? Or do they think its last gen, where the official price was simply swap the dollar sign for the pound.

Last gen? That's the way it's always been! And it's not even unique to consoles either, just about everything from cars to TVs gets their prices like that.Lost Soal wrote:At current rates, $1,173.38.

People still want a PS3?
*Reads thread thoroughly*
Thought not. £599? Erm, think I'll build a pretty high spec PC instead.

On the other hand, though, by the time it gets released over here it will actually be ready for release, with the scaler issues resolved, manufacturing process functioning, and games not rushed out with features disabled just so they have something on the shelves (Motorstorm was released in Japan with multiplayer disabled)..Shogoki wrote:The Europe situation really sucks, specially because in the US i've personally seen about 20 PS3's in random stores, from Walmart to EB around christmas, i actually saw 2 of them on a target on the 23'd.
Yeah, right....

Gundam Mosou might be better. I wonder if the game is going to have a cameo of LU BU, DESTROYER OF MEN! Even Samurai Warriors did that.

Good shit I heard doing staff duty for 24 hours. I was talking to the E6 Staff Sergeant about the hi-def TV's in the *ahem* FOB Army Strong TAC 1 building we were working at. He said that a buddy of his got a PS3 off-post. Yes, in Kansas.
There was a big-ass line at this video game store in Manhattan. (Kansas, not New York. Something like EBGames I wanna say) Of course, it was none other than the PS3 launch day. He walked in like he wasn't getting a PS3. Went to the Customer Service place in the back of the store.
"Got any PS3's?"
"Sure."
Ostensibly, he walked out of that store with an X360 or Xbox obscurely wrapped in an opaque plastic bag.
OWNED!
