Ladies and gentlemen! It's time for the first Senate event of 2007. The question before this body at this time is, should the user Isana Kadeb be titled or banned or is there some other measure some Senator would like to suggest?

Isana Kadeb's latest but by no means only trolling can be found in ARSE, in this thread. The link leads to his first post but he really gets going on the second and third pages, apparently emboldened by the lack of moderator action due to the staff being away for the New Year.

It should be noted that ARSE is an especially low-tolerance zone for trolling and for Isana Kadeb, this trolling offense is a repeated one. His previous exploits, split and HoSed from ARSE, can be found here. It should also be noted that when I make a statement to the effect of a troll being dragged in front of the Senate for the next offense, it's not idle talk. That the first linked thread has not yet been HoSed is merely a technicality. I also take rather severe exception to his behavior toward some of the female members of the board (specifically Spin Echo) who are valued and respected denizens. We DO have rules regarding the treatment of women on the board in ARSE in particular.

Furthermore, Isana Kadeb's entire posting history is filled with similar incidences of trolling, conveniently spaced rather far apart and the rest of his contributions have been essentially meaningless.

So, title, ban or other measure?

Just ban. If this one only did useless posts, I can see a title...but he's done more then his share of bitchy insults for nothing more then "How dare you contend my advice wasn't useful!"

He's been warned for spam more then a few times in N&P, and if he can't grasp what is spam and what is commenting, then fuck it. Toss him out on his ass and move on.

It should be noted in Isana Kadeb's defense that while he has a history of trolling, at one point he did seem promising. In this thread, after instigating a two page flamewar, he conceded the point and promised to reconsider his position. As Broomstick commented, apparently Isana Kadeb had some small ability to recognize and learn from his mistakes.

While this doesn't mitigate his blatant trolling, a history that includes recognizing mistakes and conceding does incline me to be lenient toward him, so I'm voting "Other", and advocating a temporary ban and a custom title. At the very least, he's an amusing chewtoy.

He has some vague glimmers of being useful and basically intelligent, but you really, really have to dig through his posting history to find them. As much as we engage in smash-mouth debating and use of colorful language, we're not a reform school for the profoundly retarded.

The only thing that would really merit giving him the WTPF title and some chew-toy amusement for the plebes is his relatively low posting rate, but our village idiots have something useful to say more often than this tool, and they're generally more amusing to boot.

That's one thing that struck me about him: he seems to think that when we insult, that's all we do, and he tries to emulate that behavior. Of course, the point that insults are window-dressing on a substantial rebuttal flies clear over his head; he doesn't seem to grasp that at all. I don't think I've seen that sort of behavior in any other troll during my time here.

Titling him would be very, very appropriate. However, this is even more appropriate.

Flames are a dime a dozen. One needs to prove his or her point while flaming in order for it to have any merit. He either doesn't understand this, or he's intentionally trolling. Either way, we don't need him.
