Anyone see this Michael Moore movie? One of the topics it touches on is the fact that certain banks in part of the country give away free hunting rifles just for starting an account.

I have not seen the movie, but I saw a clip of him getting a gun at the bank.
Frankly, that strikes me as really odd, but I dont think there should be any law against it or anything.

A few years ago there was a used car salesman, in Tennesse I think, who was giving away a vouture for a shotgun with every car someone bought (there was something else that was an alternative to the gun but I don't recall what it was). The funny part was his interview by Matt Lauer on the Today show. Lauer kept trying to stick it to him but this hillbilly/bubba kept making Lauer look like a stupid ass. Lauer was getting really pissed at him until the interview was over and then he relaxed as if he knew he'd gotten spanked.

The best part was when Lauer asked the guy how he'd feel if someone got hurt because of one of the guns he gave away (or something to that effect). The guy pointed out that it's not like there isn't a chance of people getting injured by one of the cars he was selling.

I've seen it. It was an excellent film. If you liked it, watch Roger and Me, by the same guy, Michael Moore. He's also got a book called Stupid White Men.
