Holy bug-eyed christ, I just got *raped* by the *AI*. The bloody Mexicans set up a Stark Swarm using half their carrier bombers and two airfields worth south of Panama. They timed their bomberstrike with a sub attack, and totally overwhelmed my defences with 60-70 warheads. I instantly lost everything from New Orleans to LA.
I managed to get cagey, wipe out their silos and radars and get back in the lead (they had 12m survivors, I had 30m in Boston NY Washington and Chicago) but clearly there have been AI changes. I got faked out at sea, they focus their attacks, and when the Chinese got cranky about me flattening Japan they launched a massive attack on my silos and the west coast... which luckily had already been wiped out and the silos were empty anyway. It gives a much more satisfying solo game now.

You've probably looked it up by now, but there's a bunch of netcode improvements and an 'alliance wipeboard', where you can draw shit on the map for your teammates. Pretty awesome.Admiral Valdemar wrote:Now I'm definitely going to have to try and get a game in today, since I've gotten rusty lately. Have they implemented anything else bar new AI tactics?

Hell yes. I was just playing a quick 3-way, and it was US-MEX-CHINA, so I did the usual and split my fleets and Swarms to hit both at the same time. DEFCON 1 rolled around, and they didn't really do much, so I figure 'lol lame AI woot'. Then, as I finished killing the Chinese fleet, FUCKING SIXTY WARHEADS SHOWED UP. They'd built the swarm just outside my radar range south of Mexico - I haven't tested, but if the AI now guesstimates your radar coverage, that's fucking AWESOME. They even largely ignored military targets to get points, something they often forget to do. I only won because I whipped out the staged-launch cheese and managed to kill some of their radars by luck. The Vortex Empire wrote:Shit. I'm used to the AI being a pushover. Looks like I'll need to revise my tactics. About the 1.3 update, that whiteboard is a good addition. Useful way to coordinate with alliances.
