After many months of neglect, the Domus Publica has finally returned (after a fashion). At the moment, it includes only the main page, a brief biographical sketch (in more ways than one) of the author, the Analysis section main page, and an essay entitled "On Methodology."
Further updates will probably be (relatively) frequent, at least until all of the old site's content has been restored. As always, any questions, comments, suggestions, or requests are more than welcome.

The original article, "Rattling the Saber," has been re-published, with an interesting addition, courtesy of discussion with Ender:
Evidently the Imperial Army is several thousand times larger than the Grand Army of the Republic. The GAR obviously would have been unable to occupy Derilyn in 13 rS, seeing that it only had 200,000 "units" deployable at the time.Planets of the Galaxy, Volume Three reveals that the Imperial State saw fit to deploy a military occupation force that was “the equivalent of a Sector Army” (complete with “a total of 1,180,309 personnel, including 774,576 troops,” “over 55,000 repulsorcraft,” “nearly 14,000 heavy repulsortanks,” and “three full wings of TIE fighters, split among traditional TIE/ln combat models, TIE bombers and TIE/rc ships”) to Derilyn, a relatively unimportant manufacturing world in the backwater Elrood Sector. Elrood Sector was described as being “an isolated sector far from the heart of the ongoing civil war,” and was even said to be more or less “free of direct Imperial dominance.” The fact that a force of this size was devoted to the occupation of a relatively minor planet in an isolated Sector that was specifically called “an obedient holding of Palpatine” speaks volumes about the true size of the Imperial Army and its presence in the Empire’s Sectors. It is a powerful indicator that the Army’s claims about the size of the average Sector Army are shameless lies.

Publius: as an avid reader of your work (you seem to be the only person other than me who mentions that Janus Greejatus and Sim Aloo were Dark Side Adepts, among other obscure facts) I was wondering if you were aware that the Internet Archives' Wayback Machine has links to lots of the Domuspublica.net's content and pages.

simply go to where it says Wayback Machine, type in the old URL, and it's like going back in time. A lot of the old Selected Biographies and Analysis writings, as well as Test of Wills, can still be found there.
