Yeah, ok, I read the GE thread. So you have even more crazy issues.
I see that you're offended by male attitudes of sexual superiority or aggressiveness, which is respectable. But do you also take offense when females act sexually aggressive?
Not that you'll take my advice, but I recommend that you hang out with gay guys. I gather you're straight, so I'm not suggesting any conversion or anything, but it's just that in my experience, a lot of gay guys have a less offensive attitude towards sex. Maybe that would soften your feelings towards the male gender.
I understand you don't hate every man, but it's still pretty extreme to hate enough men to even think of labeling yourself as a misandronist. You should hate individuals, or even organizations, but not genders. I mean, that's like racism. Hate people for things they can change; it's only fair.

Thank you, that's a much more sensible system than Tosho's. I understand that alcohol can diminish one's decision-making capabilities, and should therefore be considered in the same league as daterape drugs. It's just a little much to be (severely) against all drunken sex.innerbrat wrote:If there was the risk of being tried for rape for a woman too inebriated to give consent, then men would think twice before doign it, and there would be fewqer rapes in these circumstances.
Also, I think there's a little too much responsibility being put on males here. So the woman can't make up her mind but the man can? Who says that the man would have chosen to have sex with the woman if he wasn't drunk? Does that make the woman guilty of rape? Why is it that the man must be fearful of imprisonment, but the woman can freely get drunk and whore about? In such a serious situation, I think both parties need to take some responsibility. People don't have sex while they're drunk because they were at home reading their bibles. Anyone, female or male, should be aware of the dangers of drinking, and shouldn't up and send somebody off to prison just because they had sex with them.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend rape, I'm just trying to avoid having its definition be spread too widely. Rape is rape, and intoxicated consent is an unfortunate occurance, and shouldn't be as punishable as rape. You can still sue, place restraining orders, or not go to bars, but I don't think it's wrong to say that imprisonment is a little much.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Thig is, last time you were very seriously drunk, could you have had sex even if you wanted to?
Though I agree men can be raped as well, but it's easier to rape a woman, is all.

Yeah, I agree that when you're too drunk, you can't very well have sex voluntarily, which means that women are open to rape at that point. But there are a very many degrees of drunk in which man and woman are capable and should not get arrested for.innerbrat wrote:Thig is, last time you were very seriously drunk, could you have had sex even if you wanted to?

Basically, my whole passionate reaction was against Tosho's recommendation that drunken sex be punishable by imprisonment or CASTRATION. Sure, he didn't say all incidents should be thus punished, but it still warrants a big reaction.

If it's of any help to sympathize, Spanky;
When I was in university I wrote a satirical article against what I called 'guys' - the males who act stupid, or, 'dumb for the sake of dumb'.
I based it on a series of girls I knew, many of them waitresses, who were, for lack of a better term, RUINED by the string of jerks they'd dated. These had been really nice young women until they'd be strung along by some series of idiots with more libido than brains and then, and would then be so much less likely to date any honest 'nice guy'.
In the end, I loathe the kind of guys who live and breathe all the negative stereotypes about men just as much as I loathe the women who have an inability to not date jerks.

I'm male and I am often ashamed of my gender....
For those who don't know why: Abusive stepdad, Ex-girlfriend was raped, my sister's devorcing her abusive husband. And generally seeing women ignore nice guys like me and go after "The Dangerous" type men, who inverably abuse them, and treat them like shit, plus leave them at the first sign of Parental responsibilities looming.

Sorry I was too vauge, I was making the assumption that she was too drunk for anyone take any consent she gave seriously.Robert Treder wrote:Thank you, that's a much more sensible system than Tosho's.innerbrat wrote:If there was the risk of being tried for rape for a woman too inebriated to give consent, then men would think twice before doign it, and there would be fewqer rapes in these circumstances.
As for female rapists I support the same system that I propose for male rapists the only difference being that for the second offense we surgically remove their uterus&ovaries.
