RA Salvatore Death Threat Quote
Calling all cars: Can someone please provide me with the link and quote from RA Salvatore's website where he states he only HEARD about the alleged death threat for "killing Cewbacca" and never actually experienced such a thing, or received anyemails?
It can be found in this interview:
Emphasis mine.RAS: I have been surprised by the level of anger in some of the people. I haven't received any of the death threats personally, but they've been made, so I've been told. I have received many angry e-mails, and I've noticed a few curious things about the progression of that anger--it's like watching people going through a grieving process. One person, for example, wrote to me immediately, outraged and in complete shock. The guy was on the edge of absolute despair, it seemed to me. Then he wrote back a couple of weeks later, saying, basically, "Okay, I'm over it. I really liked the book."

Is this a new bit for your Karen Traviss page, to let her know that other SW fans allegedly threatened other EU writers and said writers didn't throw a hissy fit?

"Watching Sarli argue with Vympel, Stas, Schatten and the others is as bizarre as the idea of the 40-year-old Virgin telling Hugh Hefner that Hef knows nothing about pussy, and that he is the expert."--Elfdart

I believe this has more to do that she made allegations that other EU writers were threatened personally, and she was justified in her response. The truth on the other hand speaks of a whole different tale.Darth Servo wrote:Is this a new bit for your Karen Traviss page, to let her know that other SW fans allegedly threatened other EU writers and said writers didn't throw a hissy fit?
Of course the whole bit that Salvatore didn't go apeshit speaks volumes as well.

True. I haven't heard anything recently about Salvatore wishing that people who didn't like his writing would die by strangulation, even the ones who made the death threats (that he didn't see).Ghost Rider wrote:Of course the whole bit that Salvatore didn't go apeshit speaks volumes as well.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.
