I bought this little gem following the advice of a friend. The game reminds a little of Blastcorps/Blastdozers sur N64: you fight other robots with yours, throwing building and trashing the city. the real uber-coolness of this game is the control systems: each different robot has one (two if they are transformable) with wheels joysticks, loading mechanisms, etc... you control the actions of the robots with thoses: never a robot fighting game was this cool and intuitive. Moreover there is a hundred robots and the game is pretty lengthy. The japanese is mandatory if you want to follow the main story otherwise you can do without if you just want to trample house and hurl rocks at the ninja-toad robots.
every mecha lover should buy this game, period.

Nah, Blast Corps had at least..three times as much wanton destruction :)

That looks pretty cool - so I take it you control the mech using the D-pad and do the special moves with the touchscreen? Or is it all touch-based?

Any chance of an English release?

yeah D-pad and a,b,x,y for movement (except mecha-car: turning the wheel on screen; up and down for speed) (they event thought of the left handed people)
l,r for camera management

i think so but i guess you'll have to wait for a while, since it's pretty text heavy.
