The Colony Wars games were great, the first two especially because of the mpressive branching mission structure. Though Valdemar's struggle was a whole lot more 'important' compared to the civil war focus of the first two.Admiral Valdemar wrote: Psygnosis should be reformed and made to bring out a similar game engine for this then. My screen name is inspired by the third and final game Colony Wars: Red Sun, and I only ever played demos of the first two. The second of which was fucking impossible to do.

If Psygnosis comes back from the dead and develops an engine for the Neo-BSG game, they damn well better make it easier than CW: Vengance.
That was the hardest fucking game i've ever played.
Although comparatively, Red Sun was extremely easy.

I played Vengeance, and while it was okay for a console space sim, it still didn't hold a candle to games released on the PC years before. Of course, that's pretty much the case for every console game in a genre that got its start on the PC, and many that didn't.
Still, the cable thing was a neat idea, and the game became a lot more fun when I played it on an emulator with a proper joystick. Space sims simply cannot be played with those little thumb-nubs.

Most important of all from Psygnosis would be Lander 2. Lander (the 1999 version) was a gameplay marvel.Ford Prefect wrote:The Colony Wars games were great, the first two especially because of the mpressive branching mission structure. Oh man, Lander. Fucking Lander was awesome. It's a pity I didn't get to play it that much.weemadando wrote:Most important of all from Psygnosis would be Lander 2. Lander (the 1999 version) was a gameplay marvel.
The cable was my god. Because I was pretty young when I played Vengeance I wasn't very good at keeping my guns on targets. But the cable made life so much easier.Still, the cable thing was a neat idea
Haha got you, League bastards!
