Sam & Max Season 1 worth it?

Has anyone actually tried the season 1? I was thinking of getting it but I'm not sure if it's worth the cash.

Also, side note, any place to get Sam & Max: Hit the Road cheaply? Thanks.

It is totally and completely worth it. I went so far as to sign up for gametap so as to get the episodes early. They're great, really great.

Is Gametap a necessity or should I get it from Telltale directly?

It isn't. In fact, gametap is worse, since you don't get a hard copy and have to pay monthly for it. I felt that getting the episodes two weeks early was worth it (plus gametap has other good stuff).

I'd suggest buying the whole season; I think they even send you a disk with all episodes at the end of it.

I have opted to purchase the whole season. Haven't had a chance to play more than a few minutes yet, but it feels good.
