What I'm talking about is a trick I've read about in a book a long time ago. Some kind of hearth that conceals the fire but still allows you to make relatively large ones.

Hell, I'm not even sure if my character would know basic crap like the dry wood and such I've been talking about. His knowledge of survival stuff is quite limited, being more of an urban creature. Anything more would be pushing it. Looks like we will have to have either small fire, unless someone in the group is some kind of wilderness survival guru.

Just a thought here, but maybe we are getting too dragged down in the details in this game :? . I'm liking it, but we seem to be moving pretty slowly. Not sure how exactly fast these kind of things normally go plotwise, though.

EDIT: Just want to make it clear I'm not trying to complain about the rate of posting or anything. I know people got other things beside this little game going on in their lives :P

I'm sorry if I'm out of it a bit. I've got some stuff that was taking up my attention for a while.

As for the pace, play by post games are always a slowish sort of thing. They only go so fast. Then again, we are paying a lot of attention to detail, which slows down an RPG.

I have to apologise for not posting, actually. I tried a couple of times but couldn't come up with anything.
What is Project Zohar?

Here's to a certain mostly harmless nutcase.

It's all cool guys. This was just the first play by post I've done; I'm used to pencil and paper games.

Raj, it's extremely doubtful that the lumberjacks have a warjack. It's far, far more likely that it's a labor jack of some sort. In fact, I'd also most guarentee it.

Well, we can't be sure what it is until we look. By the raven's report, we could have a military unit up there. I doubt it though, because I can think of very few reasons for a militory force to be out in the woods far from any border. I'm hoping it's just a lumber camp where we can get our bounties and relax a bit :) .

A couple questions about the game and the setting. First, are shotgus availible in Iron Kingdoms, especially tthe double barrelled variety?
Second, For Imperial Overlord, would it be possible for my guy to have made some contacts in the city we'll be coming up on? Konrad probably got to know some locals who supply mercenaries, as well as maybe some scouts or lowlifes. He would usually be in advance parties for the Company, finding out who sells reliable goods, as well as figuring lay of the land etc. for the boss. Of course, tthese contacts reliability would be anything but certain. Idea would be to find possible work, maybe shake down a guy who gave bad intel, that sort of thing.

EDIT: For glaring typo.

There may be some floating around Cygnar and Rhul but I'd be suprised if there were many, if any at all, in Khador. You're much more likely to find blunderbusses than proper shotguns in all the Kingdoms.

I'm just waiting for something to actually happen. I'm not really big on the prolonged bantering between characters angle.

I had the barkeep drop a big hint about where you could find interesting stuff. All you have to do is check it out.

Hint taken! I was mainly trying to figure out where people wanted to go and what they wanted to do "in game." Time to post and move things along.....

Edit: I edited my last post in the game thread so we can get moving again. Also, if others want to accelerate the game, ie get characters to do more with each post, that is a developement I would be happy with.

50 gold a head. The ordinary guy sees more hard currency in IK than normal D&D worlds, which makes their economy less wacky. Superior mining and alchemy allows them to extract a lot more metal than an medieval civilization.

Not a bad reward. What sort of armor or weapons could I afford for my share? Are those nice technomagic widgets completely out of my price range (at least until we hit the big time?)

Edit:normal weopons armor have the same prices as vanilla D&D correct? Mainly asking about gun and special item costs.

Most mechanika is going to be well out of our price range at the moment. It usually costs hundreds, if not thousands, of gold. I doubt anything really useful is going to be around for fifty gold.

The standard range of weaponary, more exotic weapons may cost differently if they exist at all.

I take it that we're in the right part of the time line to have to worry about Everblight? Because it sounds like they may just be a prime candidate.
