Its not clear-cut, but it seems to indicate subconscious manifestation of Eden's compulsion ability.
Peter has to remember the person or how he feels about the person (he said something similar to Claude) in order to recall their power. If he didn't know Eden had a power, I wonder how he could use it.

He might not demonstrate the active ones, but the passive ones he has always demonstrated when in close proximity.

Matt's telepathy, Claire's healing, Invisibile guy's invisibility, all of the passive powers he automatically picked up when they were near him.
Yes, the passive ones he does tend to manifest right away.

However, he has met Eden without showing any sign of superhuman persuasion.

He was around his brother frequently before he demonstrated flight.

Basically, anything that requires some active effort, he may not manifest immediately.

Of course, I can see your point that the superhuman hearing would probably come out immediately.

KrauserKrauser wrote:Agreed; however I was referring to the initial meet between Peter and Sylar with the new hearing powers. Peter does not demonstrate control of the powers when he first gets them, and although he can now control the powers that he already has access to, I don't see any reason for that to suddenly stop happening.
What we're seeing, though, is that Peter is developing some control of his own power. If he can actually control which powers he manifests, then he could presumably "turn off" the super-hearing if it becomes a problem.

True, but he has to realize he has the super hearing first.

That, and dealing with the first few seconds of dealing with the increase in audio sensitivity would be more than enough time for Sylar to kill him in any number of ways with either his Cryo or Tele-kinesis.

That is, of course, if Peter can mimic all of Sylar's acquired powers.

The AWI couldn't identify anything except TK when analyzing Sylar. His original intuition and acquired freezing and memory powers weren't detected.

It's too early to tell if that would limit what Peter can mimic. He doesn't seem to have mimicked Sylar's other powers.

(Alternatively, I wonder if Peter's run-in with Sylar caused Peter to mimic his intuition which then allowed him to permanently acquire powers by integrating them into himself... which put him in his coma while his body adapted. That wouldn't explain how he mimicked Isaac's precog while in the hospital, though.)

The precog during the coma could be his subconcious mind utilizing the powers while his concious mind was not available, it works with your theory.

Though if what Invisible Man said about Peter not being the only one to have had these types of powers in the past, it might just be how his powers work.

True, however headaches caused by sound, AFAIK, is a physical thing. Just as the pain from getting your fingers mangled is, or pushing your rib back into your body would be.

That is incorrect. When he was 'sparring' with Claude, he at first had no idea where he had gotten his TK ability from.

A thought about Hiro's powers. Is it possible that he can localize it? before it was always centered on him.(moving foward/backward through time, universal "pause button") This time however it looked like he just moved the gun and bullet back, while everything else moved forward. Im not sure about the girl because it happened so fast, but i know the cops werent there before she fired.

Being assaulted by Claude's stick could have brought up feelings similar to those when Sylar assaulted Peter with locker doors, and therefore allowed him to use TK.

Either that, or Peter was mistaken about how to draw up the powers. That is, perhaps by remembering a time he was using someone else's powers, he begins to remember how to use the power. (That could explain why he couldn't use the powers at first, he was too focused on remembering people.)

Not quite, at least from that angle, because whether it's subconscious or not, he's still using a power that's not inherent to him. Either the power was still there but fading (unlikely, he immediately lost invisibility when Claude left), it was a manifestation of his own empathic visions, or he had the ability the entire time but didn't know how to access them.

It sure looks that way to me. The gun's starting and ending position is different. It starts out at the bottom of the screen and after the "rewind" trick ends up to the left of the screen.

I just happen to have the avi for ep16 here with me. Here's the relevant screencaps concerning Hiro's "rewind" trick:

Starting position of the gun:

Just before bullet exits the gun:

Just after the bullet re-enters the gun after the "rewind" trick:

End position of the gun. Note that the rewind trick apparently causes severe recoil:

Have we seen any evidence of Sylar's cryokinesis beyond that one frozen guy? If not, I'm inclined to wonder if there isn't some other factor at work with regard to Captain Popcicle and Sylar does not in fact have cryokinesis, which unless I'm mistaken we've seen no evidence of since that guy.

In the graphic novel Road Kill, Sylar used freezing to ice over a road.

After last night's Lost I can only hope that the writers of Heroes, if it makes it to season 3, will be able to keep up their habit of advancing the plot while at the same time having significant character development, with it's inherent emotional content, in each episode.

With mostly every other show I've been following going through the same blight of crappy writing, hello Emostar Galactica and Lost, I have to have hope that a show can actually maintain a high level of production value while maintaining a consistent plot.
