Armed Assault - Worth having?

Post by Faram »

So I want to buy a new FPS, is Armed Assault any good?

It says on the box that it is the same gys that made Operation Flashpoint that is involved in this one.

There is a demo out for the game (Link). Even though it says multiplayer, you can play bots.

If you like hardcore simulations, it's very impressive, and I'd say its worth the money. If you prefer more mainstream FPS games, its probably not for you.

The demo looked cool, but I the multiplayer in the demo never seemed to work out quite right. Never finding anyone to fight or dying instantly after 5-10 minutes of running were very common for me :(

Hehe. In the Co-op mission a coworker managed to clear the entire level, after I and another coworker got our asses shot off (at least I ran over four of the bots!). That mission gets easy when you've got two seagulls giving you intelligence reports :)

As with Operation Flashpoint, the game suffers from stupid bugs and bad AI. I would wait until they release some patches and mod community starts to spin.

It is truly Operation Flashoint 2 (well 1.5), it has updated graphic and sounds, new missions but the same bugs.

If you like the Opf you should get Armed Assault
