Force Unleashed Action Figures

Post by Vympel »

I figure this deserves it's own topic in PSW as opposed to the G&C one about the video game- but since this is going to be a Shadows of the Empire style multimedia project (but better, of course), check out these action figures of characters:

I really like the new Stormtroopers.

I concur; either she is very, very good, or she heals better than most and doesn't care about hurting others.

Tutorial in link dressing: http://link[+/url] gives http://link. On the other hand, text[+/url] gives text. Is that sufficiently clear, or have I botched another explanation?

Page still works for me.

Anyway, there's a Darth Vader action figure where he's clearly quite fucked up- his left prosthetic leg is exposed (ie. his boot and suit are gone), as is the left side of his chest, and most of his helmet is gone too. His arm is exposed too. Pretty nice action figure.

just testing Girly Sabers

The links still don't work, so i cant see the new figures ::sad:: I really doubt that the Jedi Order or Vaders Apprentice (whatever side the girl is on) would be trained in that style.
The Jedi being for piece and justice, and that style would just kill or maime people. And Vader always struck me as a person who relies on raw Force style. No really fancy pancy moves. Though Anakin in his prime is pretty acrobatic

Doesn't work for me, but curiosity got the better of me and forced me to search for them and thus I present this. Also, I like the ST's as well and the design for the Apprentice I saw, again the Imp Officer is hot, the Black Guardsmen are cool, and the apprentice must be some serious badass if what I suspect to be true and the injuries inflicted on Vader are from a battle against his rogue apprentice.

The interesting thing about these light-tonfas is that the same type have been seen before, and in use by a non-Force sensitive (A Black Sun bodyguard who fought against Darth Maul and died). Maybe this is Brood's way of blending in with non-Force sensitives while still using a weapon suitable for a Jedi.

They're based on an old Korean weapon called 'tonfa', interestingly enough.

I found this particular pic to be pretty badass. I never knew ISDs could do atmospheric entries. I thought only Victory SDs could.

ISDs do it over Vertical City, Nar Shaddaa in Dark Empire II, as well as in the background over Mos Eisley in SW:Battlefront.

There's something peculiar about that action figure.. Vader's exposed face is already white and pasty. If this is shortly after Episode III, shouldn't be still have rough red scarring?

As an aside, there's a highly detailed (and very expensive) 12 inch figure made by a company called MediCom that comes in a version with pasty skin, and one with still-red scar tissue. I'll pull up pics soon.

ISDs aren't able to land, but considering the sort of beating their shields can take, an atmosphere would have no effect; considering the acceleration they're capable of, the gravitational field wouldn't either. The repulsors are far more than enough for what's needed.
I don't think there are any other considerations to take into account.
Even an Executor-class Star Dreadnought can hover over a city like that.

If you're referring to Lusankya, it was specially outfitted with a repulsor cradle.

That Vader looks more like Sebastian Shaw Vader, honestly. When is this supposed to take place?

Tonfa-sabres. Huh. Well, at least we haven't gotten to sabre-chucks.

BEtter question, shouldn't he look more like Hayden Christensen and less like Sebastian Shaw? Although maybe it's just me, but it really does look more like RoTJ Anakin.

Personally speaking, the less it looks like (and reminds me of) Hayden, the better.

Just because it's in between Episode III and IV doesn't mean it's a matter of weeks after- it doesn't take very long for your skin to go white and pasty given insufficient exposure to sunlight.

Further, Anakin was burnt to a crisp- why would the skin look remotely normal?

Just to check... in the 2004 release of ROTJ, unmasked (dying) Vader still looks just like Sebastian Shaw?

As for the action figure, I wouldn't be surprised if in-universe, his new look under the mask is supposed to also it make harder for someone getting a peek to draw the "Vader = Skywalker" connection, by convenient coincidence or post-RotS alteration.

I wasn't referring to the Lusankya at all. Rationally, that was needed because the Lusankya had a cold start and needed to quickly leave its vulnerable position.

Ignoring that, what exactly is going to prevent an Imperator or Executor-class ship from entering the atmosphere if it so chooses?

I'm not taking into account frying or flattening things on the ground through compressive shockwaves or engine wash, by the way. I mean effects on the ship itself.

That's the point, actually.. he's just been burnt to a crisp, there isn't any skin left to go white and pasty.

You have a point, though, it may be set some time after Episode III.. it could be right in the middle, for example, roughly a decade after.

Judging by Vader's skin, I guess it's some time after.. unless that's the synthetically grown grafted flesh mentioned in Dark Lord, among other sources.

Yes. All they did with the unmasking is remove Shaw's eyebrows and (I think) change his eye colour to be more consistent with the PT.

The skin I understand, but depending on when the events of the game take place I would think he would still retain some of PT Anakin's facial characteristics. Of course I could be reading this wrong and the game takes place closer to ANH than I assumed.
