Spare me the patronising nonsense. My postcount does not define me nor is it an indicator of my age.
but the reason why i have scorn for NBSG is that in my opinion it shits all over the original.
Ah yes, the original. Where a one-dimensional group of inhumans took the apocalypse in their stride. Where there would always be some outpost of humanity each week to drop by for some rest and relaxation (thereby trivialising and contradicting the central premise of survival). Yes, I can see how it would "shit all over" it.
No one here is asking you to watch it in the first place or forcing it upon you, so your irrelevant insults are completely baseless. Are the TOS fanboys so insecure that they believe that the original is "diminished" as a result of the successor's existence?
The original is a classic
The original is vapid, hollow and empty. It was also cancelled. Hardly the best of comparisons.
, the new one thinks its Blair Which with its jumpy
camera.
And more exaggerations. This is strictly a non-issue. It has not inhibited my enjoyment or immersion in the series. It might have been slightly overplayed in the mini-series but it has been significantly toned down in the series proper (which you no doubt have not even bothered to view).
To make it more "appealing" to an older audience they make the main charcters drink which lets them create whole episodes about them having to deal with these problems.
I see that someone hasn't progressed past the mini-series if you honestly believe that alcoholism is a central theme. You clearly have no idea of what you are talking about. Or you've been reading the cliffnotes of some disgruntled TOS fanboy in order to try to present your case.
Picutre if you will the episode of SG-1 (200th ep) when they wanted to make Marty's shows charcters all teenagers) well thats what NBSG is.
Incorrect. nBSG is what SG-1 wishes it could be when it matures in the story-telling department.
Besides the drinking they also throw in the characters wanting to have sex. Now i understand that sex sells and many, many sci-fi fans love that,
So the prudes are coming out of the woodwork I see. Sex is not the focal point of the series. It's treated as an aspect of the Colonials lives, which is the case.
but like me there are also many, many sci-fi fans who just hate that
Your anecdotes have no place here.
and would love to get back to the dogfighting in space and the action of seeing futuristic things blow up and love a good "james bond" in space.
But others would prefer to witness something far more profound as opposed to the superficial, failed predecessor. You're understating the genre if you think it's nothing more than a series of Flash Gordon-esque skirmishes.
Please do learn to type properly. It would make comprehending and reading your posts less of a burden.
