Electrical brain signals can be programmed into robots

I'm not sure how well people know how far neuroscience has come but below is a video link that has some really profound implications about our future and our past. I try to stay up to date with big ideas but this one really boggled my mind. See for yourselves.

I'm pretty sure that that 'monkey-joystick' experiment is a few years old and has been mentioned here before. The Delgado bull experiment is also well-known. The singularity-wanking in this documentary is a bit annoying - all the sensationalistic mention of 'mind' and 'gods' feels more like a New Age publication than a scientific documentary. Definitely nice to see some video of these various experiments though.

Hmm, how did I miss this? Anyways, yes, the "documentary" had some really annoying overtones of mad scientist and playing-god-wank. Nonetheless, it was really an eye opener, for me at least.

Hmm... monkeys controling machines by thought. If someone had wrote a scifi novel about this he would have been laught at. This is truth being stranger than fiction once again.

The strange part, is that all thorugh the first clop, I'm sitting there going "That's the music from Forbidden Planet."

Either way, though, that's something interesting to see, especially when the monkey stopped moving it's arm, but kept playing the game.

"Acceptable limits of science". Christ, I've been playing Alpha Centauri too much, I thought of Miriam immediately.
