[Discussion] Board banner message

As you all know, the board has been wishing a swift recovery to DPDarkPrimus and Glocksman for quite a long time now. Long enough that both of them seem to have recovered. So a new banner message seems overdue. Any suggestions?

I like the tone, but it doesn't roll off the tongue well. But it gives me an idea: "Proudly Ignoring Net Nannies Since 2002".

That's a good one. I suggest we adopt it as the default banner if there is no call for special banners such as the previous one.

I'm with 'Proudly Ignoring Net Nannies'. It rolls off the tongue well.

I'd half-suggest things like the beginning of Futurama, if they could automatically rotate. 'Now In Smell-O-Vision', '100,000 customers served', and 'Lord Poe Does His Own Stunts.'.

I got a suggestion from one of the denizens that the board banner be a script that shows a selection of those slogans deemed best. So let's put that also into consideration and see if it gets any support.

Personally, I'm on the fence with that one.

The problem with a rotating script is that I would have to write code for it. A simple text slogan is easier to enter.

If we are going latin, I suggest my personal motto of "Illegitmus non carborundum" - Don't Let The Bastard's Get You Down, though that is probably a little more uplifting then the general board culture. Plus, an alternative interpration has it being a warning and calling all of us bastards.

It's Babelfish Latin along the lines of "whereas | y'all | a touch | yours | from a distance | night/night." It doesn't make any sense (it seems the program is unable to distinguish between nouns and verbs, or to put them in the correct format). What you want to say is more along the lines of Quod tui tangis nocturne.
