Coming: "The KT-Jelly Database SE!"

Post by Lord Poe »

I've been working on this damned thing for over a month. Every night for the past week, I think I'm ready for the grand-re-opening, but I continue to discover new material that must be included!

That, coupled with searching down certain posts and blogs which no longer exist, etc.

But watch this space. It could be a matter of hours, or a matter of days, but the new KT-Jelly Database is about to resurface! It will be LOADED with material, and the whole debacle will be in chronological order. (Very special thanks to Phil Skayhan).

HELP NEEDED:

Did ANYONE save a screenshot, or have an exact date where Traviss claimed she wanted to "rip the tracheas out of their pitiful unworthy neck"?

ENDER: Did you save your sw.com blog comment from Traviss blog "Angels, Pinheads and Inquisitions" that got you banned by Dark Moose? Also, what is the final URL to your Clone Soldiers breakdown?

Strange....

Can skullduggery already be afoot?

Here's a screengrab from the Grand Army thread on TFN I grabbed maybe 2 weeks ago:

http://www.mrpoesmorgue.com/swds/talifa ... fnorig.jpg

Now look at the same thread tonight:

http://mrpoesmorgue.com/swds/talifans/t ... artfn1.jpg

They look identical, so what did dp4m edit?

And the bigger question is, why did he suddenly decide to edit a Traviss post on the 23rd that has been unmolested since September 2005??

He locked the thread, that's why it appears as an edit.

Once again, it lives:

ATTACK OF THE 3 MILLION CLONES

It's bigger, stronger, faster (if you have a DSL connection). Hope you enjoy; I think its everything that has been asked for in the past. I left the PLB and tyhe Wookieepedia stuff out.

This revamp (and an upcoming revamp of Dark Moose's blog about "Talifan!") is essential, so another project can move forward.

Thanks, Mange. That does look like the case.

Couple of typos but otherwise very good so far. I have to admit, I've agreed with the likes of white_rabbit in the past in thinking that your films, however funny, have just given Traviss et al more ammunition - but this is persuasive, academic and well-written. Above all, it's got the evidence to show just how fucking stupid and manipulative Traviss and DM are.

I love the smell of September in the morning. Once we got off at Richmond, walked up to the 'G, and there was no game on. Not one footballer in sight. But that cut grass smell, spring rain...it smelt like victory.

Dynamic. When [Kuznetsov] decided he was going to make a difference, he did it...Like Ovechkin...then you find out - he's with Washington too? You're kidding.

Thanks, jester. Send me a PM with those typos, so I can eliminate 'em!

Jesus fucking Christ on a stick, I never knew things got THIS bad. I heard about the debates and so on and just assumed it was more of the 12.8 klick style of idiots on one side and people who like logic on the other and decided I couldn't be bothered to really get involved.

But Travis...I mean its like she's read Darkstars textbook on logic and assumptions and run with it like a mad person...

I view KT jelly as much worse than Dorkstar, because all he can do is rant on his web page. Traviss can actually fuck up star wars by putting her bullshit into her books.

Which, unfortunatly, looking at the preview for "True Colors" (not to mention "Odds") is exactly what she's doing.

No, she's superseded by higher canon. The Shatterpoint intro by Lucas is G-Level and clearly states "thousands of systems". Hell, the RotS intro scroll and novel disprove it. Let her think her numbers matter. The higher canon says otherwise.

Everytime I read anything that addresses Karen Traviss's acts in the past months, I ask myself, "How did this lady ever get hired to write EU? And why hasn't someone told Lucas what she is doing to his vision (i.e. totally going against his written outlook)?"

Karen Traviss and Dark Moose's responses to criticism reminds me of Lucy Liu from Kill Bill. Always trying to reassure everyone that it's okay to discuss about the topic and then threatening anyone who brings up the objection with a sword.

You should have seen the butchering of the TFN posts I saw during my research. Most of Vympel's posts in the "Guide To The Grand Army" thread are completely blank, edited by Darth Sapient.

Of course, Quiet Mandalorian is free to say what he likes.

You mean that Mandowanker/KT kiss asser? Ugh.... He was the one I think who had the "Death to Saxtonite Cowards" signature.

Oh yeah, you ought to try to get a screenshot of that signature. That was a classic death threat.

I miss my goddamn posts on that thread too. They were most enjoyable to make, if I do say so myself.

It's an excellent page, Wayne.

Yes, the addition of screen shots of the discussed posts gave it a more immediate feel. Very nice, enjoyed it the second time just as much as the first.

You know, the real irony to me is her line about everything on the Internet being traceable, and people being able to be sued for libel under UK law, when her earlier writings involve death threats, aspersions about the sanity and competence of her critics, comparisons to terrorists both implicit and explicit, and other various and sundry libels.

When I say "fuck up star wars" I don't mean the canon. No intelligent person who sees a massive interconnected galaxy teeming with life in the movies is going to believe that the clone wars could ever have been as small as she describes. What is pissing me off is the fact that this shit is ending up in print. And this is not like the 8KM executor length that was essentially a footnote in an RPG guide. If you look at Odds, and her upcoming novel "True Colors" this bullshit about the evil conspiracy is going to be central to the plot of her Republic Commando series from now on. She has put her shit in print in a major way, and that I cannot forgive. She will forever taint the epic feel of Star Wars. The massive battles, the countless tales of heroism from the clone wars, the honor and stubborn nobility of the Jedi. To me these are all central points of the prequel era, and she is waging a systematic campaign to eradicate them completely, not just with her internet posts, but in her printed work as well. The only thing that pisses me off more than her vindictive attempt to "prove" herself right by perverting the canon series of events that make up the Clone Wars, is the fact that countless idiots who are desperate for the attention of anyone who has the privilage of contributing to the star wars universe (which she is abusing to be a vindictive bitch) will not only believe her for putting this bullshit in print, but congratulate her for doing so.

Yes, after speaking to persons of interest, I'll add the PLB fiasco to the database.

Woo! I didn't really follow it at the time, so I don't really know where it'll go next. Those screencaps are simply awesome, however. :)

Amusing. I'm always amazed at how retarded people can be. And just when I start to believe in the goodness of humanity, school saddles me with another project, which leads to procrastination, which leads to SDN. And now I don't know if I can ever be naive again.

There is a reason my link to SDN is a bookmarks toolbar icon that says MoSP. Because Mockery of Stupid People is what keeps me from drowning in the dumb. Thanks Poe, that was a good read. :D

I had a screen shot of both when I got banned (IIRC it was for pointing out the poor research, something along the lines of "Does this refusal to do research explain why you are a 'former journo'"), and of another time when she flipped out at another person for pointing out she advocated the formation of such a database about us before you did so to her. However both were on the computer that was stolen in september.

For now, the essay is here

Howver I am steadily working on revising and updating a copy of it that Publis has agreed to host. Are you going to put up a chunk about the attack on wookieepedia and thier caving there, or leave it at the one line mentioning it?

I actually don't have that info. Do you have any particulars?

I also couldn't come across the post where Traviss thanks TFN for the massive editing in her favor. Its buried in my notes somewhere, but does anyone else have it?
