Survivor's Quest and Outbound Flight
I recently purchased both of these novels. I understand that they're a pseudo duology of sorts, not as tight as the Hand of Thrawn duology, but still companion pieces.
My question is, for those who have read them, in which order do you read these novels? SQ first, OF to finish off? Or OF first, since it's set in the prequel era, and SQ to finish off?
SQ was released first, so my initial reaction is to read that first, OF last. Thoughts? No spoilers tolerated, obviously.

I read SQ first, so that's what I recommend. Reading OF I was like "Oh, THAT'S what was going on" a whole lot. If you read SQ last, you'd probably be a bit irritated at Mara and Luke puzzling over stuff you already knew.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal. -Tanasinn

SQ first. OF completely spoils all of the mystery and surprise in SQ.

Its more like watching RoTS before ANH/ESB. Even though its the chronological order, you get the intended surprises if you watch them the other way around.Tychu wrote:SQ goes first. Its kinda like watching Empire before A New Hope if you read OF first

I personally think that Outbound Flight should be read first, when reading Survivor's Quest first I missed a lot of details I only caught after reading it after Outbound Flight.
Of course, that's probably just me.
I haven't read Allegiance though.

Stand alone, and only gives glimpses into Mara and a few other bits. Nothing about SQ or OF in it.Stofsk wrote:Ah ok. Question answered, thanks!
For those who have read Alleigance, I take it that is entirely a stand alone?
