Incidentally, the byplay is much more entertaining then the actual "story".

Those sodding bastards. They have that goddamn Black Eye Peas song stuck in my head. With Will Farrell singing it from the promos for that fucking ice skating movie. Now I hate Captain America. Because it's his face that's singing it!

This is funny, and I don't even follow the comics (much less be-bop).
One question, though-- since I don't follow the comics-- how much of the dialogue has been changed? Some of it is obvious, but some... well, I could see it in a Marvel or DC rag. And how close is the dialogue overall to the original storyline?
Even for someone on the outside, though, it is still awesome!

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!

I loved the Atlantis scene. First Susan Richards fawning over Namor's magnificent regal genitalia. Then the whole part where she asks for help and Namor says no on the grounds that he can't give assistance to an insurrection against the government of the United States.
"But- come on, you invade the surface world every other year!"
"Yes, and inevitably there's reparations. It's a lucky thing Atlantis is insanely rich or it might actually become too expensive to keep up with the traditional invasion cycle."
The best part is that it almost sounds like what would really be in the comic.

I have a question, I just finished reading the issue 7 parody (lol Cap cries zomg) and Iron Man says at the end, "Now that I'm director of SHIELD I can keep all my friend's secret identities secret."
Um. I get that this is a parody. But in the actual comic, does he actually become head of SHIELD, and actually could conceivably keep all the registered superheroes secret identities secret? Was that an actual line in the comic, or was it implied in the comic if not an actual line?

I was wondering the same thing as Stofsk because it seems odd to me that it would be politically acceptable for Stark to be the head of SHIELD after being forced to resign as the Secretary of Defense during the whole Avengers: Dissassembled storyline.
It's possible he may have convinced him that he was a victim of the Scarlet Witch at the time but no one seemed to believe him then so unless that was another aspect of the Scarlet Witch's hex then I have a tough time believing they'd make him head of SHIELD, even with a boatload of campaign contributions.
Considering the shady stuff that SHIELD was doing in the Savage Land I'm surprised that they'd even let Stark get close to running SHIELD let alone actually run it.

The whole thing read like an episode of The Venture Bros. Especially the bits with the Fantastic Four. Great stuff.Adrian Laguna wrote:The best part is that it almost sounds like what would really be in the comic.

"See my face? This is my face while fucking you in the ass."
"Ok, look, here's my wallet. See a New Warrior's membership card? No. But LOOK, a credit card with no limit!"
"If you want some of my 'repulsor ray', i should tell you that i'm seeing Shakira now and we're very happy."
I LOL'd about fifty times reading that (excellent) parody, but why does Iron Douche get all the really funny lines.
Oh and, best joke in the whole thing: "Did he COME!?!"
Some faceless stooge of Stark's commenting on Sue and Johnny Storm doing things God never meant for a brother and sister to do...at least not in publuc.

Kanye West Saves.
That is actually a quote from Millar's book Wanted. Someone just lifted the last monolog from that book and put it on some of the CW stuff and it fits pretty well. It also might explain a few things as well.18-Till-I-Die wrote:"See my face? This is my face while fucking you in the ass."

Never read the comics and I found it damned hilarious. I liked Thor's battlecry and the thoughts going through cap's head as he broke out of shield was nice.
