I was wondering if there's any sort of program out there that can password protect selected file folders on my hard drive. Lets just say that I have one or two folders on my computer that I wouldn't want certain family members to stumble on should they ever need to use my laptop...
I was kind of surprised Windows didn't have a program for this in its OS, I would've thought someone could see the benefit of a program like that.
Thanks.

XP Pro has encryption, but that requires that you use a password to login.
You might want to check out TrueCrypt
It can do allmost what you want.

Re: Program to Password Protect File Folders?
The correct way to approach this is to create another user account on your computer, for use by guests (whether your family or your friends or whatever), which does not have access to your user files.Mr. T wrote:I was wondering if there's any sort of program out there that can password protect selected file folders on my hard drive.
