Yet they did jack and shit. If that had been a real RPG everyone would have been dead from shrapnel. As it was they were just tossed around. Chalk up another lost kill to the superiority of Trek weapons.

Drek, I somehow had this thing confused with the supposed superweapon from Nemesis. Thanks, everyone.

No he's talking about the RPG thing Worf had in Insurrection, you know the one that only knocked over a bunch of Sona and slaves but didn't kill anyone.
And did about as much damage as a modern hand grenade would have.

Are you sure they survived that?

Less, as the targets weren't shredded by shrapnel.

They didn't appear damaged.

From how I see things, ST writers today are trying to adapt to Gene Roddenberry's 60's style of thinking, hence the CRAPtacular military and weaponry.

They CAN up the military in Star Trek to have it make some sense. All they need to do is PULL THE DAMN TRIGGER!!

I do wonder, if the Federation were to militarize, what could we expect to see, what would be the political outcome of this, and how id at all would it affect the Empire were it to invade.

The return of body armour, support weapons, armoured vehicles and an actual army, air support, artillery and actual warships. IF they militarize real-world style. If they do it in-Universe style, they'll just produce more DS9 kitbash wannabe warships with the occasional exception like Defiant, more unaimable phasers wielded by redshirts...

Maybe-MT shields and weapons vs TT+ ones. No difference whatsoever WRT the invasion.

ooh. This looks like a fun topic. I am probably a bit late for the outfitting bit, but, what the hey, here goes:

Main Weapon: G-36 with all options, diff barrels/double-drum mags

CQB: Spas-12 shotgun, maybe.

Backup weapon: H&K USP pistol, chambered in .45 ACP

I've actually done some shooting, so I won't bump the mag release accidentally, etc and know the basics.

I'd just have some trouble cleaning the weapon.

Oh. And some of that nice armor made from packing crates...

It also occours to me, what with the ship's computer full of 20th/21st Century history(Weapons specs, etc,) holodeck, and a REPLICATOR, that you could make as many of any kind of weapon that you wanted, and be able to program training scenarios....

Holographic R. Lee Ermey, anyone??

It's also a bit of a dead topic.
