Well, after a long hiatus from RTS games in general I'm once again getting bored playing against the comp. Anyone still up for a few games?

I'm currently using the Dawn of War Expanded mod for Dark Crusade and haven't gotten any others for the new expansion yet, but if anyone has anything else they'd like to try, I'm up for it. I highly recommend DoWXP; it certainly rivals DoW40k in my opinion.

Screen name's still Rogue_9. Anyone out there?

I'm interested, but I lack any semblance of skill. I match the AI on Hard on a good day.

EDIT: I'm in the Pacific time zone.

Eh. That's fine; if you want to play we can just do a compstomp. At least it'll be fun to have another person on my team rather than an AI.

For the foreseeable future, I'm good for almost any time. This may change, as I have good prospects on landing a job next week, but for now I have loads of free time and not much else.

I'm pretty widely available for the next little-under-two-weeks. I can't compete with 'pro' players, but I've been playing the game for long enough to have learned a thing or two, so I should be fine for casual team play.

I'm currently downloading the Tyranid mod pre-beta, and expect to be using it for the near future.

I'm having some trouble connecting to games, it seems. I'll try to get that figured out as soon as I can. Same old song and dance we used to have while doing this, only it doesn't seem to go away eventually like it used to.

Anyway, I'm still using DoWXP and just found this neat little add-on to the mod which re-skins Imperial Guard units in camo appropriate to the terrain tileset for the map.

I'm going to try it out tonight, and will advise as to whether it works and how well.

I've found a way around the connection troubles of the GameSpy servers. I've been introduced to a program called Hamachi that emulates a local area network over the Internet. The program includes the option to disallow file and printer sharing, so that you can just play games with other people on your network. If anyone would be interested in setting up an SD.net gaming network (it would work for far more than just Dawn of War) speak up.
