Nit and I also watched that scene. We confirm exhaust ports of a Heavy Raider, just before Lee catches sight of Kara. The question now is what was the white light around her.
Here ship had hit deep enough in the atmosphere or she was going fast enough (most likely both) that the ship was burning up on entry and the light was ionized gas.
In that case, she's dead even if she did eject, though that would require real world logic* and not sci-fi logic.
(*given how fast the ship is going, if she ejects she's still moving basically at the same velocity vector as the ship and a damn sight less aerodynamic... and the ship was burning up)
Based on what we saw, Leoben couldn't have rescued her even if he wanted to except by writer fiat since she'd necessarily need to be caught by Leoben after she ejected and therefore got wrecked by hurdling through the atmosphere for a few kilometers in a few seconds between when she ejects and when Leoben matched velocities with her and caught her. I'm not discounting that the Heavy Raider will rescue her anyway, but I'm not thinking it will because that would be tacky.
However, right now I'm putting my money on the Cylon bet. Aside from it being the only thing that really makes alot of sense (how else was she having those premonitions and she matches the Cylon psychology of projection), they were kind of tipping their hand with the Aurora of the Dawn thing. Aurora symbolizes resurrection and new chances, after all, and I don't think the BSG writing staff is going to let her go after building up "Kara Thrace and Her Special Destiny". I think she's going to wake up in a Cylon tank, but not with the conventional Cylons, since they wouldn't have her body type, but rather the Cylons in the Five.
