Before I answer your questions, I suggest you read the rules. Proper spelling, grammar, punctuation and the like aren't just pleasantries here. So, in the future, perhaps you should read over your posts and correct your punctuation before submitting them.
Now, for your questions. No, to both, I do believe. Most Star Trek books technically aren't canon, and to the best of my knowledge, the Star Wars Roleplaying game isn't either, but I could be wrong as to that.

The Star Wars RPG is not canon, because not only are figures not accurate for gameplay reasons, but some non-gameplay facts are simply wrong.

Actually Fluff is Canon unless contradicted by newer information or the movies, for example Base Delta Zero and the 25,000 ISD figure.DPDarkPrimus wrote:The Star Wars RPG is not canon, because not only are figures not accurate for gameplay reasons, but some non-gameplay facts are simply wrong.

Damn lack of foresight, no the Trek Tech Manuals aren't canon but they're the best we've got and I believe it's been mentioned that they give higher ratings than are actually shown, so basically you've been given more than you've shown to have, in addition to using lower-end estimates for Wars (To actually erradicate literally all resources we'd need to get more than just the upper, but again, we're going with whatever takes the least and still fit the parameters of the quoted capabilities).

Obviously. Would it kill you to use a little proper English now and again?LITNDARC wrote:I am not as intelligent as many of the people associated with this site
In answer to your questions: yes, the TM is generally considered canon; no, the SWRPG is not canon. Also, keep in mind that higher canon overrides lower canon when there's a contradiction -- e.g., the "Executor nearly bankrupted the Empire" claim.
The thing about canon is that pretty much regardless of at which level in the Star Wars hierarchy you draw the line and say, "Lower than this isn't canon", Star Wars squishes Star Trek like a tiny little bug. In fact, some of the highest estimates for SW speed and firepower you'll find in the movies, novelizations, and ICS books.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

Since when is the SWRPG not canon? So the Imperial Sourcebook is non-canon, thus goes the 25,000 number and so would be any WotC material and the reconciliation of the whole Executor/Super-class Star Destroyer debacle, let's also throw out the one-thousand more Acclamators bought after Geonosis from the Revised Core Rulebook.Surlethe wrote:no, the SWRPG is not canon.

Game mechanics aren't canon due to the fact overpowered nature of them, afaik the fluff behind is canon unless contradicted by a higher source, which can be almost anything. The 25,000 Star Destroyers was backed up by the Hand of Thrawn duology for example.General Schatten wrote:Since when is the SWRPG not canon? Next Generation Tech Manual and all sort of it's brethern have never been considered canon since Paramount never approved of ANY written work except two novels. Even the movie novelizations are not considered canon.
The RPG is among the lowest tier of canon within the EU, above games itself. And it follows the same rules as video games and it's ilk. The stories within are considered viable information, any game mechanics are considered apocrypha.

In light of this and Ghost Rider's post -- whoops, my bad.General Schatten wrote:Since when is the SWRPG not canon? You know, I normally don't like playing mod or anything. . .but why is there even a topic about this when there's several stickies and a website attached to the board with all of this information on it?

Because people can still ask specifics, and get a decent answer without the sifting. And really, being the mod here, and one who chimed in to answer...so be it. I only step on topics that are out and outright just pure utter bullshit or ones that are completely lack of reading anything on the site.General Zod wrote:You know, I normally don't like playing mod or anything. . .but why is there even a topic about this when there's several stickies and a website attached to the board with all of this information on it?

Didn't Paramount dump even those two Trek books recently?Ghost Rider wrote:Next Generation Tech Manual and all sort of it's brethern have never been considered canon since Paramount never approved of ANY written work except two novels. Even the movie novelizations are not considered canon.

Their canon status was downgraded from canon to an ambiguous "open to interpretation."Enigma wrote:Didn't Paramount dump even those two Trek books recently?
