Which FF has the best ending?
Basically since FF-2, the Final Fantasy series has had a thing for long operatic ending sequances that really make the whole game worth while.
Personally I have always had a soft spot for the ending of FF-3/6 as (IMHO) it has some of the best ending music ever and really makes a wonderfulk use of the FF main theme. Off course theres also FF-4, FF-7 and so many others worth mentioning. So which one is your favorite?
Also, I did NOT add a poll for this first off cause I think you can't have more than 8 or so option and theres bloody 12 FF games out there.

Either nine or twelve. So hard to call.
But either Steiner presenting Beatrix with Save The Queen to seal the ending, or 'I am the leading man.' *Cough* 'You're really more of a supporting role..'

Vivi's not in FFXI. And FFXI doesn't end.NeoGoomba wrote:XI, simply for "I'm Vivi's son!"
I'm going to have to concur with Nitram. FFIX was my all-time favorite, and had the best ending IMO... until XII came along. It wasn't nearly as black and white as all the rest. Since the true "villain" (Venat) has a noble objective and actually ends up fulfilling it, that's awesome. But FFXII is awesome all over.
Still have 8, 9, sitting around waiting to be beaten. Still have X-2(Ugg) that's never going to be beaten. And I'm still recovering from my last attempt at playing through 12.
So of the ones I've played Three/Six had the best game, with horrible sprite cinamatics but with a song I love and some interesting bits.
Seven did not grab me at all at the end, ten was a so-so ending.

Of the most I enjoyed 3/6, and 10 the most.
FF7's ending did literally nothing for me except frustrate.

Agreed. If I spend 60+ hours beating a game, then there is no excuse for making me wait 8 years for a crappy direct to dvd movie to find out what the fuck happened to them.Ghost Rider wrote:

For me, Definitly 12. 12 was the best.

I have to go with 3/6. Of course I have yet to actually beat a FF game, but of the ending music I've come across 3/6 has the best. I have also seen the ending video and it's pretty good. Poor Shadow...

Well, there's two ending videos actually. Depending on what actions you take with Shadow in the game. One of them is somewhat less tragic.RogueIce wrote:I have to go with 3/6. Really? I thought if you didn't get him in WoR they just showed his profile picture. Am I missing something?General Zod wrote:Well, there's two ending videos actually. They're not too different. One of the endings has Shadow doing things, but if you don't get him they simply show his portrait. But it's been awhile since I've seen the endings, admittedly.RogueIce wrote:Really? I thought if you didn't get him in WoR they just showed his profile picture. Since I waited for Shadow, I had him through the World of Ruin, and got to finally see all his dreams of his past.
And those dreams explain why you see him on Kefka's Tower, sending Interceptor to follow Relm and then hunkering down with the words "I'm not running anymore."
Nitram's looking to see if there's anything more to it.

Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

In the other ending, Shadow stays behind while the tower (island?) is collapsing, and either dies or leaves his past behind. Its been about 10 years since I saw that.
Stuart: The only problem is, I'm losing track of which universe I'm in.
