The photographer purposely provoked the toddlers (all under three years of age) to have these emotional outbursts. As a father of three children, I have to say this jerks my chain a little. I have no problems with photographers capturing all human emotion, but to purposely torment (yes, giving a small child a lollipop and then taking it away to make them cry is torment in my book) to capture the emotion, is just low class. What do you think?
(Edited original title from "Is this art" to something else...well...because yes it is art...in a really mean way.)

If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.
I wonder how many of the parents up in arms against these photos had their kids circumcised?
As for torment...hmmm... well, I don't think it's anything that bad and it's unlikely to leave lasting damage and in the short term the kid gets more happiness out of it (since iirc, they get the lolly after the photo is took). I wouldn't try to stop the artist from doing it.
As for it being "low class" I suppose it is, yeah.
