All I want is Rebellion 2. That's all.
Ass lathered in bacon grease might actually move along at a pretty good clip. At least downhill.
I'd really like Rebellion 2 as well. I think we're the only ones! Who else is a Rebellion fan? I forget what it was called in Europe, it had a different name. It really is a fun game though, I've got it on my computer and play it from time to time. I massacre it on Jedi now that I've gotten it worked out all in my head, but it's an extremely rewarding game, I'd say. Done with something similar to Homeworld or EaW graphics and extremely simplified movement and firing orders like Rebellion had, the game could be gobs of fun. Nothing beat all the deception either. It was really such a deep game as far as Star Wars strategy knockoffs go.

Looking at what the developers wanted to do, seems they wanted a Rebellion 2 as well. Then they got behind schedule and Lucas Arts told them to scrap a good half of the features. They left them in the code half finished, so people can see exactly what was cut if you look in the xml's.

I loved Rebellion, although it nearly always ended in my Executor-fleets devastating the galaxy. The droid duo was fun- "sanction him...", if you lost as imperial commander.
Rebellion's 200 (or was it 100?) planet galaxy was nice, more would be better.
Are there any mods available? I never heard of any.
I'm waiting until I get EaW together with its add-on for ~30€ or so, the reviews were not so great and it dropped of my 'must have immediately'-list.

EAW has an extremely healthy mod community, due the game being piss-easy to mod.

I miss rebellion, but EAW and a mod called Conflict in Space has found a new place in my heart.... My search is being a bit wonky or I'd post a link, but it adds the Soverign, Executor as well as other SSD's, Republic Star Destroyers and more.
Also improves the AI tons.

There's one in the works, last I checked. Unfortunately these things rarely ever see the light of day, from trying to add the entire 40k universe too quickly...
EDIT: Oh for christ's sake, I should have figured as much. The mod was canceled in favor of moving it to C&C3.

the 40k mod had working fighters last time I heard anything about it... a pity I would have enjoyed that after the SG1 mod.
The main problem with EaW is the absolute crap space mechanics. Having a fleet of Star Destroyers is just painful with the shit poor path finding, 2D space, incredibly short visual/weapon ranges and the abysmally small maps. Having bloody nebula's/asteroid fields everywhere doesn't help much either, although there is a mod pack that removes most of them.

I've seen the ship fighter capacities like in Supremacy and a basic diplomacy model but is there anything other than that they were hoping to introduce?
Get busy living or get busy dying... unless there’s cake.
Yup but you need 5.0 then upgrade 5.0 to 5.1. New ships, runs smoother, mods the AI ALOT! Oh if you have a Soveriegn in orbit around the planet your fighting on...no bomber squads for you...bombing run gives you superlaser from mr. happy Soveriegn

C&C3 isn't even out yet! And it has no space layer! WTF?? Will we never see the battlefleets on PC?

More streamlining of the game engine IIRC.
Thats now been pushed back for another game though Lucas Arts wouldn't give them time.
